Open Question: My husband never wants to do anything or go anywhere?

I have been married for 4 1/2 years, I am 29 and my husband is 36. I feel like we are 90 year olds. My husband never never wants to do the things I do. This weekend we were invited to go away but because of him we couldn't go. It is always like this. Sometimes I can't take living like this and a lot of my friends think that I am making his existence up. He always says he has to work yet when I randomly show up at his work he is sitting at his desk just watching tv. I know he loves me but I don't think I can live a lifetime like this I feel like I am too young to live like I am over the hill. I have talked to him about this but it always turns into a fight and him telling me to get out if I don't like it. I have no money to move out but my car may be an option to live in for awhile. Should I leave? Any suggestions? What do you think I should do? more

Open Question: I am thinking about turning off our cable television?

My husband is horrified, but my 2 y/o adores the TV and whines to watch it. I can't allow her to watch more than 2, 3 hours max a day without feeling horrible. She fusses though and when she gets mad she'll say "I wanna watch *insert TV show here*!!!" I don't like it. I don't want my kids whining about the stupid TV. My MIL let the TV raise my husband and his half brother (9 y/o) and although my husband grew up well adjusted the 9 year old can barely talk and has zero social skills. I just don't want TV babies!! But part of me wonders what I'll do without my crappy Lifetime movies, and Nip/Tuck is getting canceled soon. Am I totally crazy to think we can live without $80/month cable TV? I hate it being the center of attention in the living room.... if I can get my husband to agree to cut it off I'm selling our big set. I'm tired of it!!Thank you all for the wonderful input.. O.M.A. I'm glad your children are being raised so perfectly :)I'm 7 months pregnant and honestly I just wanted to go ahead and get everyone used to not having it before the new baby comes in September. I've done a lot of research about how just having it on in the same room can affect children and it worries me. My husband is so ADD, I often wonder if he hadn't been sat in front of the TV after school until bedtime how different he would be. more

Resolved Question: Everybody is wanting to?

A lot of people here are giving so much respect to Michael Jackson. It's like he is the only one that died.Farrah died first. Don't some of you think it is time to give Farrah Faucett some respect as well. She suffered so bad from her cancer but she fought it to the end.I am so glad that she never knew her son Redmon was in jail, that would have really taken a toll on her.She made so many good movies and tv shows in her lifetime. She was also a very private person. How bout some respect for Farrah. Thanks for all your honest opinions. more

Voting Question: Need help remembering title of movie?

There's this weird movie that I watched a long time ago on TV that I've been trying to find the name of but no one seems to know what it is. I think it was made in the 90's if that helps any. It was one of those lifetime-like movies that revolved around this high school girl and her meeting of a mentally disturbed teenage guy. He meets the main character in a CD store and they start a romance together. At the start of the movie you don't think there's anything wrong with him, and he even seems charismatic. I don't remember much about the movie, but I think he ends up killing someone and they show him playing these odd bondage games on his computer secretly and sketching out disturbing drawings of torturing women and such. At the end of the movie he's talking about his Mom who died to the main character and he ends up getting angry and trying to kill her for reasons I can't exactly remember but I know it has to do about something with his Mom and tries to kill her, but the police intervene and stop him. I know that was vague description but if you have any idea what it could be then please leave an answer. more

Resolved Question: It's almost like a Romeo and Juliet Story-my heart is broken.sorry this is very long. i have many issues?

My brother was 18. My brother's friend is same age and he moved in with us because his parents were extrememly strict and mean. I was 12. About a month later after he moved in, I started to really like him, and believe it or not, he began liking me too. Then one day, he asked, "If there were 1 person you could date, who'd it be?" and i said, "I dont know, who would you date?" and he said, "you." and I said, "you too." then he said, "so, when should we start?" and I almost had a heart attack. I said, "my brother and my parents would kill us." he nodded in agreement. so we didn't-for now. We started liking each more and more and more. Then, I realized, I've never felt this way about anything in the world. I know you would all say I'm too young to know what love is, but really, I really felt it. No doubt.I knew. He started treating me out to the movies (not dating, just friends) and I REALLY knew i was in love with him. After my bedtime, I would always text him in my bed, even though he was right down the hall, but my parents couldn't know. We would always say, "Goodnight. -Kiss-" in text pretending to kiss but one night i said, "that's not a kiss" and he snuck in my room and gave me a quick kiss, then whispered, "goodnight," and I whispered it back too. I wrote in my diary every night about my day and how much I loved him-more than words could explain it. Then we knew we were practically secretly dating. I would tag along with him almost anywhere he went and my parents thought we were just friends. Then everynight we would stay out in the living room, cuddle on the couch and make out. we would be very quiet with the tv on because everyone but us was asleep. one night, i whispered, "i love you," in his ear and he whispered it back to me. my heart pounded more than ever. I loved the smell of him-his delicious scent of Old Spice. I loved his long shiny hair and his pretty hazel eyes, his soft lips on mine, and his cute mustache. My life was perfect. I wanted to spend my life with him. One day, he went out for a walk alone at 11PM the night before Valentines Day. I followed him. I held his hand and he led me into the trees into the most beautiful spot in the world. Everywhere was covered in snow, and he sat on a big boulder, and I sat on his lap. He had his arms around me to keep me warm and he kissed me alot. I of course kissed him back. (by now he was 19) I said to him "this is the best night of my life". I might've been freezing and my feet got frost bite, but being in that beautiful romantic spot with him made it PERFECT. we were out till 2 in the morning. We got home, and my dad was awake waiting at the door. He kept questioning me where i was and everything. next morning, was Valentines Day. I got him a cute stuffed puppy that had candy bones around his neck that said, "I wuff you," and i had a little box with a key that was "the key to my heart". I was going to give it to him. He worked that day, so i went out with my parents to the home and garden show, then my dad took me out to get coffee-the day was going perfect. when i got home i was expecting the love of my life waiting for me. when i got home, i got the screaming and threatning of my lifetime. my mom found my diary. she read EVERYTHING that we did (and we did A LOT that i won't name on here....I AM STILL A VIRGIN so don't worry at all) my parents threatned to murder him or throw him in jail if i didn't explain everything so i lied. I lied and said, those were just all my fantasies-just things i wanted to do to him. they bought it, but that very night they kicked him out of the house and threatned to murder him if he ever texted me or made any kind of contact with me ever again. so he left. i found out my brother is gay and they share a 1 room apartment together. my mom said to me they were getting very close. my brother admitted they have been dating since they moved in. I got furious. he cheated on me WITH MY BROTHER. I hated him...and yet i was so deeply in love with him still. my dad said time would heal but it hasn't at all. my mom stuck me in therapy for a month-it didn't work whatsoever so i got out. my family went to the fair yesterday and i ran into him. he hung out with my brother the whole time but didn't go on the rides with us. i couldn't help staring at him the whole time we were there. i almost bursted into tears seeing him. I realized, I need him forever. I really do. time will not heal this. When we all left, i texted him for the first time since valentines day. I said, "I understand if you don't want to text back, but i just wanted to say, Howdy!" and he said, "and here i thought u were mad at me" since i wasnt talking to him at the fair. I said "no...umm...I heard you and my bro are getting pretty close," and he said, "i dont know who told you that, but no, i am my own life," and I said "Oh, well I just wanted the other side of the story is all. your probally not gonna want to hear this, but i still love you. I hope you sIf I found out he did actually still have feelings for me, and I asked him on a secret date (our 1st) where could we go where people wouldn't think he's like, a prostitute or something...? (he's not even close i swear!)Oh, I guess the end got cut off. Here it is: sweet dreams and good night" everytime I would text him saying hi and asking how he was doing he'd say "really busy sorry" and all that crap. I miss him. Does he still love me? Does he have feelings for me? I'm so scared to find out and get my heart broken more, (if it even can...) but 2morrow morning im going to ask him if he does have feelings for me. Wish me luck. I really need him. He is my heart. when he leaves, my heart leaves. I really don't want to lose him. I really don't want to lose him. more

Voting Question: Why do old woman watch extremely sick stuff on TV?

Like all the CSI's, the NCIS', those movies on Lifetime, and those TV shows about the murders and rapes that really happened and all that stuff? Every old woman I've known watched them all the time, where do they get off on watching this sick stuff non-stop?By old I mean like in the forties to fifties, but I've seen women as young as thirty fall into this behavioral pattern. No, I'm not the TV police, I just find it morbid how someone can sit there all day watching these acts being made, described in EXTREME detail. more

Resolved Question: Old Lifetime Television Series that aired +/- 2004?

I can't remember the name of a Lifetime TV series that was one of my favorite shows. It aired during 2004, and I think before and / or after 2004. It ran next to the old Lifetime TV series 1 - 800 - Missing. I remeber the lead character's name was Zoey and she used to work at a casino, but she moves to take care of her sister's kids after her sister passes away. It was like a mystery type show. I've been driving myself crazy trying to remember the name of this show! If you can help me out at all I would greatly appreciate it! more

Resolved Question: Question about an older TV episode From Discovery Channel.?

It was an epsiode of the The Prosecutors: In Pursuit of Justice.Iit featured some crazy dude who murdered someone and when his verdict was read he had to be duct-taped on the mouth to prevent anymore outbursts. He also beat his head on the table as the verdict was read and was sent to a lifetime of imprisonment at California's Pelican Bay. All I remember was the end of the show and not who the guy was and what he actually did. Can anyone give me more info. This was shown around 2000-2001 and I can't find any of the episodes online. more

Resolved Question: Does anyone else despise Stockton, California?

I have lived in Stockton for 21 years. So I feel I can talk with authority about the place. If there is one thing that makes me uncomfortable in the world, it's driving through most of Stockton. Most of the area is filled with the worst elements of people you'll likely see in your lifetime. Most of it is foreign, ugly and uncomfortable. In fact, every time I'm being dragged to go somewhere in Stockton, it is my personal opinion that the U.S. Army should move in and clean it up. Because many people in Stockton are a danger to Americans. You have to remember that you still have to live in Stockton, buy groceries, go to the bank, and if you dare go to the "mall". You'll drive down the street and look in the car next to you only to see the local boyz in da hood. Turn on the TV and you'll see a local channel dedicated to showing pictures of felons wanted. It's basically like being in a third-world country. I'd rather be in Lodi, Manteca, heck... I'd rather be in GALT than that piece of crap called Stockton. Your opinions... does anyone else despise Stockton? more

Resolved Question: LGBTQ - Have you ever...?

... jumped up and down / screamed in excitement because an actor or actress you really like is guest starring in an episode of some show on TV? Haha. OK, so I'm watching reruns of Reba, and I was checking out the episode description for the ones coming up (apparently it's a mini-marathon on Lifetime) and the one at 6:30pm tonight (for anyone else who wants to watch...) says that the guest star is SARAH SHAHI (Carmen on The L Word) - yes, I screamed and got super excited. I love her...hehe. I also watched the episode of Lie To Me with Jennifer Beals, and I don't even know what the heck that show is about, but... ah, it was JB... =D So who has done this? Who was it? BQ: What is your favourite kind of chocolate (milk, white, dark, etc.)? Mine is definitely white chocolate, but I also like dark - especially made with cacao... it's good for your heart ;)Hey, I'm a girl... sometimes we do get THAT excited... haha. Besides, being stuck in the house day after day thanks to my ankle, ah, I'll take any bit of excitement I can get =P more

Voting Question: ROMEO AND JULIET HELP?

i gave this to my teacher and she said its a grade d :/ can someone help me get it to a higher grade please? Grade c, b would be nice. :) Alisa Vaseghi Romeo and Juliet ‘How does Shakespeare use Tybalt to raise the level of tension in the play?’ The story of Romeo and Juliet is about two young teenagers who fall deeply in love. However due to their feuding families, the Montagues and the Capulets their love is forbidden. Their love is only accepted and their families unite after the death of Romeo and Juliet. It was among Shakespeare’s most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays to audiences of all ages. Shakespeare tells the whole story at the start because he wanted the audience the see the whole story before watching it, this is called a prologue. The prologue tells the audience the whole plot which is unusual, Shakespeare did this because he wanted us to be intrigued and wanted us to watch the play, film and read the book to get the answers we have raised from the prologue. It is a dramatic and unusual way to start a play that captures audiences; The prologue in the original play would have been read once, with no background or music. However, the film is much different. It is shown three times, two of them spoken, and one with words flashing up on the screen. In the film, it is first read out by a newsreader and we actually see that the TV is the frame for the action, like we’re sitting down and watching it as a news reading. You don’t pay much attention to this part, as the screen is small and there is no music or dramatic things going on. I also find the news not that interesting, and neither do most people my age. I find news hardly interesting because at my age, I only care for things such as flashing and attractive pictures. I feel that if the news was more exclusive then I would take more interest in it. But at the moment, news seems dull and uninteresting because the people that present the news also seem dull and uninterested by their tone and their emotions. However, the second time it is read, it is much more dynamic and it’s very much like a trailer, with dramatic music, a deep American-sounding narrator who you can’t see, and lots of flashing images of parts of the film and newspaper clippings. Then the words of the prologue flash across the screen, with the music still playing. You concentrate more on this as there is interesting music and the words and pictures flash across the screen almost too fast to see, so you have to look at it more for it to make sense. It also freezes the screen and names of the main characters appear when you see them. Baz Luhrmann did this because he wanted to make it look like the beginning of an American TV show, which is as common as plays were in Shakespearian times. In Shakespearian times, the people watching the play liked the prologue as it tells them what is going to happen in the end, but they are more interested in the middle part and how it actually gets to the end. Today, if someone told me what was going to happen at the end of a film, I would be annoyed. Horror and suspense films would be pretty pointless if right at the beginning of the film, some guy popped up and said; “That guy is going to kill everyone.” However, Baz Luhrmann made the prologue look like the intro to an American TV show like the OC or a trailer; something that shows you the basic outline of the film, without giving away the most important information, making you want to watch it. Along with Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt is one of the main characters. Tybalt Capulet is Juliets cousin, who tries to stop Romeo and Juliet being together in the play. As a character Tybalt is full of hatred, he loves to fight and mess things up he seems very territorial too. When he speaks in the movie (Luhrmann) the facial expressions Tybalt puts on basically tells you his full personality, he loves to kill people and make people’s lives hell. I don’t really think he is very nice as a person, he seems very mean and selfish. People call him ‘Prince of Cats’ because he likes to fight a lot and he is very violent and aggressive. He is like tomcat the way he has irrational reactions. I really don’t like him because he is so aggressive and selfish. Tybalt seems quite vain to be honest because of the way he dresses in the movie, and the way he talks, and he has his hair, In Act one Scene one, while the Montagues are hanging out at the public place the Capulets come along and aggravate the Montague’s making them angry. One of the Montagues, Benvolio, gets very angry and does the biting thumb sign which indicates a very big insult, it’s like putting your middle finger up in modern day’s times. This infuriates Tybalt and they firstly have a battle of words. Tybalt says to Benvolio ‘What, art thou drawn among these heari only need some help maki my essay better. more

Resolved Question: Would women like it if a TV show went after women that had an abortion to humiliate them?

...Because that's what Lifetime has done with men. Here's a new show about "Deadbeat dads:" http://community.mylifetime.com/community/lifetime-feedback/discussions/upcoming-show-lifetime-deadbeat-dads Women have 3 ways to shirk their parental responsibilities (abortion, "no questions asked policies for drop-offs at hospitals, and adoption.) Do we call the women that shirk their responsibility "deadbeats?" Do television shows hunt them down and humiliate them? But with men... it's a different story. If they don't wish to be a parent... it's suddenly abhorrent and the guys are instant losers. This new show takes an already oppressive situation and rubs salt in the wound. Not only are men legally bound to finance a baby that the woman could have easily destroyed or handed off... But now the men are insulted and hunted for doing the same thing the women can do LEGALLY and without censure. Why don't people seem to understand how slanted, jaded and unfair this issue has become?EDIT: Does a persons own anecdotes about bad men in their life justify anti-male sexism?EDIT: Would women like a show where women that had abortions were humiliated and called "deadbeat moms?" more

Voting Question: Did I do the right thing?

I'm a 23 year old gay guy who just broke it up my boyfriend of 5 years. So congratulations internet you get the soap opera worthy story: (Names have obviously been changed) I met Mark when I was just starting college at a LAN party, we hit it off right off the bat. This whole thing starts with a catch of course.. Mark is the Ex boyfriend of my first boyfriend, which I didn't know at the time and never seemed to matter. Well, he had before me had a Polygamous relationship with 3 people: Mark, James, and Greg. Back to Mark and I, we quickly started hanging out more often and in a few weeks were dating. Weeks turned into months, and then into years. I was sure Mark was the one for me, we got a long great. We played video games together, and enjoyed the same TV shows. I felt like I won the lottery at age 18 in finding a lifetime partner. Until life slaps me in the face with hard and unexpected changes very recently. Mark still had a flair for the Polygamous life style, and while I wasn't too keen on it I was confident in our relationship together. He invited a girl, Penny, over. She was sweet, I had little issue with her. So I put up with Mark being with Penny and didn't mind it all too much really. The irony is that Mark somehow really must have minded himself, he started to have panic attacks and some horrible break downs. Just about 9 days ago he had the biggest mental meltdown he's ever had, and the following week he started to lose his grip on reality. He would stare at me for long periods of time and write on paper without speaking, or ask me questions that would catch me by surprise. It progressed like that on and on, he asked me if his sister's living room was littered with cameras, if his pet cat had been replaced with a robotic spy cat, he would sleep on the floor on the other side of the bed to just be those few feet farther from the window he feared. All in all, it was having me terrified and oblivious as to what to do until I spotted a red flag I had been looking for: Late last Monday when I couldn't sleep Mark walked into the computer room looking petrified over something. Then he sneaked closer to me and whispered in my ear "Are they trying to kill me?" he was also glancing around the room nervously. I don't know a whole ton about psychology, but I know he was losing his mind into delusional paranoia. The moment he thought his life was at risk he could at any time go into fight or flight and potentially become violent. I left the next day after I finally getting to sleep. Before I left I spoke to his parents in detail about everything I had seen and really suggested taking him to a Doctor of some kind sooner then later. This whole thing has me thrown for a loop, I thought I had everything I wanted in life and now fate has taken it from me. It's time to try again, at least I'm still young. Anyway, I had been living with Mark up until then I quickly packed everything I had into my car and left. I had 2 choices try to call anyone for a place to stay or live with my parents. Of course fate says the only person willing to take me in was one of the people in Mark's previous Polygamous relationship. (I really need more friends). The first night I stayed at Greg's house I told him this story as well in a bit more detail, when I came up to the part about Penny he stopped me. He told me about how Mark has been cheating on the group with Penny from back when that group still existed. Who knows what else I didn't know about Penny that could have made Mark lose it like he did. I think I did the right thing in telling his parents, but I would love a outside perspective from anyone willing to give it. more

Resolved Question: The story of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe?

I understand on American TV Crusoe mini series is being shown on I think NBC and the series is sticking very closely to the book by Daniel Defoe. I am wondering about the story of Robinson Crusoe was the story based on an actual event that happened during Defoe's lifetime or is the story pure fiction. I heard that Crusoe was actually based on a real life event so was the story just pure fiction.Didn't Daniel Defoe base his character Robinson Crusoe on a real life castaway Alexander Selkirk who had been stranded on a deserted island at the time? more

For CNN, MSNBC and other media outlets, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to use the word "teabagging" in a sentence. Teabagging, for those who don't live in a frat house, refers to a sexual act involving part of the male genitalia and a second person's face or mouth. So when the anti-tax "tea party" protests were held Wednesday across the country, cable anchors and guests -- who for weeks had all but ignored the story -- covered the protests by cracking a litany of barely concealed sexual references. CNN anchor Anderson Cooper interspersed "teabagging" references with analyst David Gergen's more staid commentary on how Republicans are still "searching for their voice." "It's hard to talk when you're teabagging," Cooper explained. Gergen laughed, but Cooper kept a straight face. MSNBC's David Shuster weaved a tapestry of "Animal House" humor Monday as he filled in for Countdown host Keith Olbermann. The protests, he explained, amount to "Teabagging day for the right wing and they are going nuts for it." He described the parties as simultaneously "full-throated" and "toothless," and continued: "They want to give President Obama a strong tongue-lashing and lick government spending." Shuster also noted how the protesters "whipped out" the demonstrations this past weekend. Tea Party participants were not amused. The events were held in dozens of cities across the country, and while some demonstrators were criticized for wielding off-topic and sometimes insensitive protest signs, most took to the streets to speak out against government spending. Brent Bozell, president of the conservative Media Research Center, said the media coverage was "insulting," reacting specifically to CNN reporter Susan Roesgen's combative interviews with Illinois demonstrators in which she declared that the protests were "anti-CNN" and supported by FOX News. She left the teabagging jokes to her colleagues, though. "I've never seen anything like it," Bozell said. "The oral sex jokes on (CNN) and particularly MSNBC on teabagging ... they had them by the dozens. That's how insulting they were toward people who believe they're being taxed too highly." Max Pappas, public policy vice president at FreedomWorks -- a small-government group which promoted the tea parties -- said it's a "shame" media outlets cracked jokes at a genuine "grassroots uprising." "I think what that reveals is how worried they are that this might actually be something serious. You make fun of things you're afraid of, I'd say," Pappas said. If anyone thinks the orally charged remarks on mainstream cable were just a coincidence, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow's segments over the past week with guest, Air America's Ana Marie Cox, would dissolve all doubt. Their on-air gymnastics, dancing around the double entendre of the week, looked like live-action Beavis and Butthead. By one count, the two of them used the word "teabag" more than 50 times on one show. And on Monday, Cox more

Resolved Question: How can I swallow this stage fright for a chance to be on tv?

My husband and I were recently selected to do a segment on a news show. Well, I am so afraid of being the center of attention and talking in front of cameras. I am so scared but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. more

Resolved Question: What is going to happen when armageddon comes? If you are not religious views not wanted?

There was a documentary on the tv telling us about what is possible going to happen when Armageddon comes, i am a christian and believe in armageddon . It is believed that the devil, will get an anti christ and he will appear as a political figure, he will be someone who we all believe to be a guy who is saying we need world peace and will get power in whatever country, I do not know who and satan will also get a religious leader (false prophet) who many believe will be the pope of today, to support the anti christ when this political figure appears many believe, that we the human race will than have seven years of suffering we will have a massive earthquake never ever experienced before because of these two evil bastards. I believe Jesus said in the scripture that when the end is near we will have earthquakes etc I could go go on forever but going to try and stop.It is also believed there will be a battle in Megiddo which is in modern day Israel and if you know about megiddo you know it will be the perfect place for a battle the land is flat tanks, big guns will all be able to move easily, the anti Christ could be anyone even Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It will be anyone who emerged into politics with support of the world and many people he fooled us into thinking he believes in world peace and things like that i really think for some reason it is the Iranian president for some reason the seven years will be world war and to be honest it looks like with Iran's defiance to stop there nuclear programme that the USA will grant war on Iran and that will be the start of the seven years of suffering if it was to start in are lifetime because prophets like Nostradamus predict that there will be a world war, which will signify the end of the world and Muslims Christians and Jews all have a similar book, to the book of revelations there a shorter version enter Armageddon on wikipedia.org and look at christianity and it will show you the countries which will probably be anti christ followers it said's the northern federation of Russia will be anti Christ and some parts of Turkey East, Africa etc, allot more and the King of Mongols will return which consist of modern day Iran, Iraq. Pakistan. I really could go on forever but I am not going to.I want to know what is other peoples opinions and what you think but in the end in all religious scriptures good triumphs over evil and all good humans will live in eternal peace, I a place beyond me and your imagination.PS it is believed America United Kingdom will fight on the side of God and whilst Satan's army will have guns and modern equipment, Jesus will have the scripture of God and will defeat them it will be so bad there will be a stream of God and the angels will invite the vultures to come and eat the remains, but this will not be the end Satan will be sent into exile for 1000 years during that time Jesus will rule the world with peace and stability than Satan would not of gone weaker and when he escapes he will be finally judged by God and when that happen the human species is ready to be judged every human being who has ever lived and the book of deeds will be there of all the sins we have committed and we will be judged. i really could go on forever but i would like to know other peoples opinions on what they feel will happen at Armageddon and how it will happen.ATHEIST VIEWS NOT WANTED HERE PLEASE more

Resolved Question: is www.favoritetvshow.com a good source to download tv shows to burn to dvd?

i want to download episodes of the current season of lost and catch up by watching them on dvd. I would buy them from itunes but you have to pay even more for software that removes the security and allows it to be burned to dvd. I know theres a $35 dollar lifetime fee for favorite tv show.com, i'm just wondering whether i could get the episodes without getting scammed or adding viruses to my computer, and whether or not it has a high resolution that would be okay for a large tv screen any feedback would be great. more

Resolved Question: Does Anyone Know The Name Of This Old TV Show? (10 pts)?

I used to watch it a looong time ago, and cant remember the name, but I'll tell you what I remember about it: The theme song was "Do You Believe in Magic" The main characters were two girls (probably around age 10) one was a brunette, the other a blonde. In the Intro to the show I remember a few scenes: one of which was one of the girls and her mother looking at an abstract painting by turning their heads sideways, and another scene was the little brunette girl in/falling in a washing machine. I can remember the plot of one episode which was about how one of the girls was auditioning for a movie (the blonde, I think?) and she and the producers were in a room practicing when the brunette, overhearing the script, asked what a word meant and the mother realized that it was an inappropriate movie for her daughter to be doing. I cant remember exactly what station it was on but it seems like it would be on Lifetime. It was definitely an adult show. I'd say it was from about 5 to 10 years ago more

Resolved Question: Don't you just hate the way the media portrays bipolar disorder?

Or any mental disorder for that matter? I'm bipolar and never in my life have I ever done the extreme things characters on TV do. I was watching 90210 earlier tonight and one of the characters was acting in that stereotypical hollywood way that bipolar disorder is presented. So I looked it up online, hoping I could have faith in TV again and it would be something else. Sure enough, spoilers say she's bipolar. She videotaped herself having sex with her boyfriend, showed it to a crowd, acted super stalkery, begging her boyfriend not to leave her, started a fire in his backyard, then broke into her teachers house and blamed him for it, then threw a bottle of champagne at him. All in one episode! I've also watched a lifetime movie that was soooo grossly exaggerated it was ridiculous. So many teen shows have had "bipolar" characters, as well as more adult shows. All of them represent the bipolar person in the same light: crazy, psycho, hyper, obsessive, violent, promiscuous, angry, sad, ecstatic, self-destructive, etc. As I said, I'm bipolar, take lithium, blah blah blah. I'm a senior in high school, third in my class, taking [and passing] four college classes, play on the tennis team, have a normal group of friends, am an avid amateur filmmaker, and have been accepted to one of the top schools in the nation. [not trying to toot my own horn, just making a point] I'm basically the boy next door. Never in my life have I ever behaved the way these so-called bipolar characters behave. I know there are certain bipolar people out there who do act like that if they don't take their meds, but it's a much smaller percentage compared to the well-adjusted, well-functioning, positive, creative, intuitive members of society that are bipolar. It's the same way with other illnesses [god, I hate that word] too. The media takes the very extreme worst case scenario and makes it seem as though that's the norm. Nevermind all the brilliant innovators before us that had mental disorders, let's just focus on the worst of the worst, that'll get ratings! It's ridiculous. more

Resolved Question: "Army Wives" TV show and real life military wives.?

My best friend of the last 10 years is married to a USMC lance cpl. He just got back last week from a 7 month deployment. Obviously it was hard on her and their son. Anyway, I mentioned being excited because one of my favorite TV shows, "Army Wives" (Lifetime) is going to begin a new season in June. She got mad and was like, "I have better things to do than waste my time watching those kinds of shows when I live that life every single day." And I asked if she'd ever actually seen it (b/c its focus is not on soldiers dying and sadness). She said no and then gave me a hard time because since my husband isn't in the military, he must be less of a man or something. I know she was emotional. Her husband had been deployed 6 months. She'd just had a baby recently. Is this a common feeling towards the show amongst military families? more

Resolved Question: Ladies, is it ok for a guy to watch the "LIFETIME" Network or is this just television made for Women ?

I really want to know the truth now. I was kind of pissed off that I missed that movie over the weekend. It was to debut on the Lifetime Network, which is mostly watched by Women. However, since there is not that much good quality shows on tv nowadays, Lifetime seems to offer some good alternatives. I have seen some of their films in the past, and they are good ! I wanted to see "Northern Lights", starring country music singer, LeAnn Rimes. I like her. Anyway, I heard it was an incredible movie. And the ratings were the highest of the year for this Network. 5 million watch her get it on with the man, who she is having an affair with in real life. So it added some flavor to the whole story. A woman having an affair, imagine that. Do you think that the Lifetime Network is for Women only, and is ok for a guy to watch it. I don't watch it that often, but when I do. I say to myself afterwards, damn.....................This Lifetime drama is alright........... He, he, he.Jen. Please be for real. You are so boring. =)Miss Molly. Yes I love those shows. Resolved Question: I was offered a one in a lifetime chance...?

Okay, I had to go to Target with my mom to get some food for my dog and some new bedsheets. But, while I was choosing my bedsheets, this lady walked up to my mom and asked if I was her daughter. And then she started talking about how she was an agent for a TV show thingy, and she wanted me to audition for it. What do you think I should do? more

Resolved Question: Do you think we should boycott the "Octomom's" reality show?

Have the Duggars and "Jon and Kate Plus 8" started a "trend"? Is having many kids, getting a show and living off the profits/donations the new "American Dream"? Is this the newest, "easiest" way to hit the lottery? (I know super pregnancies aren't easy. I'm just saying, months of hardship, then a lifetime of easy street. Seems peachy to me.) Yes, the Duggars do support themselves, but I'm certain sure being on TV doesn't hurt the family finances any. When I was graduating high school, girls were getting pregnant and going on welfare instead of getting jobs. Next came "Show-biz Mom's and Dads" who say and do awful things to their kids in order to hit it big. Do you think this is the newest way to profit from your kids? I, personally, won't watch the Octomom profit from this. I won't watch her exploit her children. I've quit watching Jon and Kate, and never could stand that insane Duggar woman. What are your thoughts?People who exploit and neglect their kids SHOULD be hated. Exploit: At the very least she had all those kids to "fill a void in her heart". Neglect: There's no possible way 1 person can look after 14 children. Especially when some of them have health and developmental problems. If we accept and reward this behavior, what's next?Neglected and exploited children are everyone's business. more

Resolved Question: Ladies, I touched the "fertility" statues today at RIPLEY'S, do you think my girlfriend will get pregnant ?

Soon. These statues, are from the Ivory Coast of Africa. They are well known all around the world. And have been seen on tv, on shows such as Inside Edition, CNN, Believe it or not. Thousands of women have claimed to be pregnant after touching these works of art. I saw them today, and I touched them. Crazy right ? You only live once in a lifetime. What do you think will happen.............No I am not sterlile. But I have always wanted to touch these statues. One is a man, and the other is a woman with a baby in her hand. I was warned not to, but I did it anyway. =) Legend has it, that all who touches these things will have a baby within a year or two. They say it works, and you know what. They may be right............. more

Resolved Question: Do you hate the entire Fox Media Corporation?

I used to be an avid reader of the Wall Street Journal until I found out one day one of Rush Limbaugh's articles was printed in there. I thought this was strange, because you usually never see someone like him get an article published in there. No surprise though, Fox Murdoch bought the newspaper last year. Their TV channel is horrible. Fox NFL sports is the cheesiest venue to watch any game on. In addition to all the obnoxious technology, they have a dancing robot. WHY? It makes me feel like I'm 5 years old, watching a robot dance to cheesy music that was cool in 1982 in Charlotte, North Carolina! The TV shows on Fox all have a "Haven't I Seen This Before" vibe to them. Are the X-Files, Fringe, House and Lie To Me basically all the same show with minor things changed here and there? What is the love affair with The Simpsons? That show died 10 years ago, but still cannot get canceled. Why do they just randomly kill good shows by putting them in stupid time slots? I don't get it. Kitchen Nightmares by Gordon Ramsey is 10x better in England than the one made in America, which has been sensationalized and dumbed down by Fox. The movie studio has an obsession with making every movie rated PG-13. Somehow, they felt they could get away with doing it for Die Hard 4. It failed, and killed the franchise. Then they tried to shake down Warner Brothers for Watchmen, pissing off a lot of fans with the possibility of a delay. Did I mention they destroyed the X-Men franchise? Fox News, oh boy, need I say more? Even the local TV news stations have more sophisticated, intelligent people than the ones on Fox News. The hosts are stupid, the guests are stupid, the guest hosts are stupid, and you get the sense that working one day there is worse than spending a lifetime in hell suntanning. I can't wait for the business channel. I can't foresee them continuing their business practices and surviving much longer than 10 more years, maximum. I swear to god I'm never buying stock in that company. I can't believe the Wall Street Journal sold out to them, that makes me even angrier. more
