Resolved Question: How can I cure my hiccups?

I've had incredibly painful hiccups all day. They've been very uncomfortable, even stopping me from doing my homework, although I doubt my teachers will believe me when I say that I couldn't do my work because of my stupid spastic hiccups. At the moment, my hiccups are gone, but I've been left unable to breathe properly, a bad stomach ache, a painful chest and disgusting sticky spit. What the heck's going on!? My hiccups usually are rather awkward, but they've never caused me to be in so much pain. The only time I feel slightly comortable is when I'm lying down on my back. Please help :(I can't go see a doctor right now, it's half past ten in the evening. D: more

My sister has been in Australia & New Zeland for the past two years and returned home about 2weeks ago. A few days ago she left her facebook up on the computer and I know I shouldn't have, but I read through her emails. She was emailing a man who she was in a relationship with over there. She said she had real pains in her lower stomach from the op and she was worried it might affect future fertility. I can't confront her about it because we don't get along at all, but at the same time it isn't really any of my business. But isn't an abortion a course of tablets?If it was a cyst though, surely she would have told someone, our parents or something? I do feel awful for her, recently I've been trying so hard to get along with her because I can't imagine what she's been through. more

I have been on this pill since last thursday morning. Ever since, i have been feeling very sick (never been sick though) and have also had a bit of breast tenderness. These are just some side effects right and areperfectly normal. Can it also make you get pains on the left side of you're stomach or pains around you're stomach in general? Note: i have not missed a pill, pill has been taken at around 8:00-9:00am in the morning. more

Voting Question: PROBLEMS WITH BOYFRIEND?

I am getting a bit fed up with Graham and my relationship with each other and his parents! I feel his parents always win, he went for counselling today, it is a 10 week course which means he won't be able to come up and see me very often, as i live 90 miles away. I will have to keep driving to his home I'm not that keen on driving,l I have driven a few times to his home just for a few days in between my anxiety course and my dad with dementia being ill. I don't think Graham's parents will be that keen if he wants to drive up to me for a few days, he is disabled but I am too, I get a lot of back pain with scoliosis, am waiting to go to a pain clinic. My dad is in a residential home with dementia so I couldn't stay with Graham 10 weeks, be apart from my dad as i don't know how long he'll stay well for. He has had pneumonia twice and a pin in his hip in the last 8 months! I am already starting to feel anxious although I have just finished an anxiety course, I seem to fit my life around going to see Graham, there's no one in the family stopping me from going! I think his parents want him there to help them out particularly his mum, she's depressed herself and both Graham and I think she needs counselling herself. Last year Graham's dad had a foot operation so Graham didn't come up to see me very often as he couldn't leave his parents! I have always left my parents even when my mum was frail, a few months before she died although I didn't really like leaving them, I don't my dad either now he has dementia! I sometimes think that perhaps Graham should get someone else locally and that we're not meant to be, his parents will have won then as he'll be at their beck and call! I think part of the reason he gets anxious and no self esteem is due to their attitude, not letting him have a life! I am supposed to be going to Graham's at the end of this week, I have previously driven with eye infections and stomach upsets. I am 23 weeks and 5 days and I am having a very complicated pregnancy. I have period like pain in my stomach daily, I am tired all the time and I have NO energy, No matter how much water I drink I am ALWAYS thirsty, I don't want sex with my partner because it hurts and I can't feel anything, I have very itchy hands and feet (the doctors want to test me in a few weeks for Obstetric Cholestiasis. I had a test done at 18 weeks when all the itching started but since then it has gotten more frequent but they want to wait a while. I have to go along with them because they flatly refuse to give me any blood tests before then) and I keep on getting odd feelings of pressure in my cervix. I have also recently developed bad financial problems. I got pregnant with the idea that I was going to have a healthy pregnancy and an OK baby. I am embarrassed to admit it but before I got pregnant I didn't even know what a stillbirth was (I had heard the word mentioned but didn't really know what it meant). Now I do and I am scared of the possibility. If I had known that things would get complicated I would have not had children. I just feel so down about the pregnancy. I hate people asking me about it so much that I try and avoid people and I stay at home all day. Despite that I feel too tired to go to college and can't concentrate on anything. I also keep on forgetting things and losing things and I never did this before. On top of all that I have Aspergers Syndrome so social services have decided to involve themselves. I don't want anyone to comfort me and I push my partner away. Before I got pregnant I wanted a baby, so I don't know why I feel like this. I do care about my baby but I can't help feeling angry and upset at everything and everyone. My family are not very involved as my Mother is mentally ill and has drink problems and my Dad and I hardly know each other. My sister rings me to see how I am but I can't help feeling like I want to be left alone. I don't know how to cope and I just want my baby to be OK. If it dies or gets taken away I'll just want to pretend that I was never pregnant in the first place. Does any one have a story like this? It would help if I felt like I was not the only one.April Golden just to remind you I live in the UK. Being pregnant doesn't cost me anything because of the NHS. If I do have Obstetric Cholestiasis there is a chance that I won't even have a baby to spend money on. more

Last night i stayed in with my laptop in bed, felt a bit hungry so i had banana(10.30.) Watched itv player until 3 in the morning then decided to put my head down. I got settled then i found this sharp pain began at the top of my rib cage in the middle, less than a cm below. Then it released again and came back, i found it hard to breath for a while and then I started to have a panic attack and calmed myself down. An hour later im sure my left arm became really numb and sore i could not rest it. hours this went on and the veins in my hand became sore to touch, then my left leg did the same, and moved to my privates which was pain-full. Then my stomach kept cramping and i was farting not constantly. It was half 7 before i feel asleep. Woke up and i still have this pain in my chest, its not nice and im scared. I cant even sit up straight. Could i have been leading up to a heart attack or was it the banana? It cant be? more

I stopped taking my pill 23rd May (for my 7 day break) and got my withdrawal bleed 26nd May, started taking it again 30th, 2 days in I forgot a pill and had sex the next night...I then forgot to take a pill on the 8th night...and had sex the next night. I have had weird stomach pains, like a niggling pain in my lower left abdomen - could I have signs of pregnancy already - the pain, its not so much painful its just there and happens when I stretch or sneeze. i have been on and off with the father of my two children for seven years since high school. I just recently had my son who is now 1. I have spent over $1,000 on him in that time and my parents loaned him and his friend each $750 that never got paid back...he never really sees his children hes them maybe once a month...hasnt seen them in the past two weeks and it was both of their birthdays and hasnt called. The other day he did though...i met him and at the end he tried making me feel guilty for being upset with him..i broke up with him a couple days ago..in the beginning i did cheat on him and i told him he didnt forgive since then i stoped and has been 6 years since that happened since then he cheated on my several times and i found out from other people...when i was pregnant with my son he left me in the hospital with him and took off to green bay and moved in with another girl who was an alcoholic and did drugs and i didnt find out until i got home from the hospital with my son...he didnt see his son for the first two and half months of his life..he cheated on my with my brothers girlfriends sister which is also one of his friends sister. i found out two years later about some of the cheating..he tried to be nice to me the other day and tomorrow he wants to see our daughter and put her to bed...i just dont know what to do i feel bad for what i have done but i stoped doing it and hasnt changed at all...he didnt even really buy them anything for their birthday and my daughter two years in a row..he says he loves me but has issues then will call me be nice wanna meet me tell me he misses me and then tell me to leave him alone....i have broken up with two other guys in the past because i went back to him....and it has never changed..i dont know how to move on from him...right now i am currently handing better i spend more time with my children...and dont cry as much but i still miss him and at night it is all i think about...thinking about him with other girls doesnt bother me to much anymore..but i just dont know how to be strong enough to stay away from him and finish it for good...plzz i desperately need advice im tired of being tired i was in the hospital for suicide because it hurt so bad especially after my son was born i found out about the other girl he moved in with..and my daughter was 3 at the time...and i felt i couldnt handle anything and i was in pain from having my son i remember him crying in his crib and i couldnt get up to pick him up because i was in the rocking chair and the pain was so horrible in my stomach i was screaming for help and crying..i told the father and he didnt want to come back and help in the hospital he told me he didnt feel sorry for me and when i got out he told me with his other girlfriend at the time on speaker phone "oh go take some more pills i wont attend your fueneral." Hi all, I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant with baby number 3 and I have an appointment with my consultant tomorrow so thought I'd get some advice first. So far in this pregnancy : *SPD since 16 weeks, on crutches since 24 weeks *History of blood loss *Early contractions at 30 weeks *Measuring larger than dates for most of pregnancy At my 35 week appointment last week I was measuring 44cm so had a growth scan which determined baby was measuring full term (approx weight 6lbs 8oz) and there's excess fluid. I had a GD test on Thursday and go back for the results and another scan tomorrow followed by a meeting with a consultant. I also had to have a scan on Saturday to check for blood clots as my left foot/leg swelled up quite badly. I am literally in pain now with all the extra weight combined with the SPD. My back, stomach, pelvis, legs and even my shins are constantly aching or in pain and I'm really really struggling. Do you think that they will agree to induce me or give me a c-section after 38 weeks if I ask for it? I'm so worried about everything without the added risks of cord prolapse, placental abruption, premature rupture of membranes etc. Any help/advice appreciated x more

hi guys, basically im needing you adivice here. back about 3 weeks ago now i came off my pill after being on it for about a month and a half. it made e very sick and cause i was sick i didnt complete the pill as the last 7 pills i throw up. i did get my withdraw bleed a couple of days later on the 22nd of may. the thing is 4 days after my withdraw bleed i had unprotected sex with my partner and over that weekend i had sharp pains down my left side i had that till tuesday the 2nd i then had unprotected sex on the wednesday and now since thursday i have had cramps in my stomach it could be my period but as im all mucked up with my pill last month i dont know. im just getting lower stomach pains and it affects my back as well. can anyone help?ive been taken off the pill by my doctor more

I moved into my flat 10weeks ago, however after 2-3 days and turning on the heating all these small black 1-2mm thread like things appeared all over the sofa (that was given to me along with a chinese rug. This sofa has also been my bed. The walls had strange lines down them like a snail would leave on the floor but a lot thinner and the wall which this sofa is up against had loads of little woodworm type holes with these sticky slimey looking tracks coming from it. Well I could feel burrowing and a horrible glue taste in my mouth (my spit dried round brown and stuck fast like glue. I also felt itchy and my feet were begining to suffer red and itchy (also you could cut the air with a knife) The Dr said he could see some egg cases behind my ears and so gave me lotion which i applied everywhere and sprayed the flat. we are now as I say 11 weeks on and there are certainly developments what looks like dry skin on my feet arms and legs and under my boobs (where it is red and sore) when I scratched and looked at it I then used a 10x lens and oh my god there were legs eyes but not all the same some look like the head of a seahorse almost transparent other end what looks like eggs others look like shrimps. I went to the vet as you can only make them out under a microscope or lens and he said one was a pupil flea but the rest he had never seens anything like it. I feel really if and they are in my ears nose mouth yes(I think one has planted itself right at the back every swo often my mouth fills up and so i keep spitting it out and my spit sets like glue and is all shiney. The floors (which are bear as I dont want to put anything down until this is resolved) have large wet patches appearing and all around it its like ....... all random like something has left the nest. Also my tablets keeps ending up all over the place skirting boards front door kitchen and there are pin holes and where around the seals on the tablets something has opened them up and removed them . There are a lot of 1-2mm now small white little thread like things whereas before they were black. my furniture is getting ruined as is my clothes and they are getting in drinks bottles packets you name it. very worst thing and worrying things for me know is that when I go to the toilet my stools have lots of blood and for a week now I have been bleeding from my front passage with lots of clumps that look (when under the lens a little like whats around the house only larger. I bleed like mad then it just stops, next night starts again. I have alot of stomach pains and feels really ill any help or advice I went and stayed in away for a couple of nights as it is getting so badThank you I am not sure how to just add to discussion (just joined) but it is council property and they do not want to know. This place was empty a while before i moved in however i have learnt that the previous occupant died and was here sometime before discovery (didnt know that when i took the place) I have left here twice now and stayed in a hotel, but i worry what if i infect others. the other thing i have lost about 2 stone now. I have done a little research myself and my two suspects are 1. scabies mite 2 carpet beetle as i am not so mobile re op i am in the thick of it 24/7oh and where i felt burrowing there is like a little bite entrance then thread, red random tracks just under the skin. on my hands some only going 1-2mm others a lot longer squigles more

a couple of months ago i had pain while doin a bowel movement n some bleeding.(fresh red blood). i went to the doctor and he checked for hemrroids but there were none externally. he sent me to have an endoscopy and the dr said i had a small hemrroid internally further up my anus/intestine. he said everything else looks extremely healthy and just to leave it. it was nothing to worry about but that was only a week and a half ago. do yous think it is the hemrroid or could it be something else?? i eat my 5 a day and drink loads of water and eat healthly. i am 16. hi i have currently been off sick for three days with a stomach infection/bug. I phoned my workplace and left a message on their abscense line saying i was bad couldnt come in. later in day got call from my manager asking what was up etc, no problem just a courtesy call as of procedure. Said would likely be back next day. next day was worse again phoned line said was worse didnt now when would be back. Phoned later in day by HR manager who left message asking when would be back and that the top manager wanted me to call. i didnt mind the HR call but felt that having to call the big boss was being pressured as company procedure is to phone immediate manager or leave message. Phoned told him was going to doctors next day. As i write this he has phoned and said how busy it is to phone after doctors and that i need to be back asap nad its al about peoples pain threshold! I cant be any less ill because its busy! Is this harrasment what right do they have? Worried about job now but i do not have a bad sickness record far from it. more

Hi, Well i have been asking about ovulation on here for the last few days, i started testing Last monday and never got a positive, but as i was due to ovulate around thursday i was keeping an eye on other things, like i got my usual ovualtion twinge in my left had side, my cm was stretchy and EW. So i am going to take that i ovulated when i was supposed to an am 5dpo. Today I had a very nipping like pain in my lower stomach, on the right hand side, which went on and off for about 2 hours. While that was happening i was getting a very sharp shooting pain in my down below front part. lol ( dont know what else to call it without sounding crude lol) which was very painful. My question is does this have anything to do with TTC, and have you ever had this and found out you were pregnant? Could it have anything to do with implantation? Thanks more

I went to my gp 7 wks ago with extremely sore throat and neck(had tonsils out when I was younger) and pain in ears, he gave me amoxacillin, that didnt work then he gave me penacillin that aint worked, im still in pain, im really tired and could sleep the clock round, now he seems to think it may be glandular fever(hence why antibiotics aint worked) I keep getting sharp pain in left side of rib cage and stomach, he has taken blood and im awaiting the results. Most people are saying that I wouldnt be able to get out of bed if it was glandular fever, is this right???? more

I have been taking the above anti depressant for nearly a year and stopped taking it 5 days ago. i have had some withdrawal probs e.g insomnia and stomach probs. Does anyone know how long it will take for the withdrawals to go?# Also i feel very faint some times and wondered if there are any serious risks in not withdrawing slowly. I was helping lift a jacuzzi tub. Being focused on my bad back I wanted to be sure I used my legs more. As soon as we started to lift I shifted my legs to get a better grip and to place my right knee under the tub so I could push the tub higher to get it on its side. I instantly felt pain in the front inside of my left knee. Told my hubby I was pretty sure I strained something. Went on with the chore but by the time I laid down to take a nap for work the back of my knee hurt so bad. I could not bend my knee with significant (catch your breathe) pain. Even woke me while I was sleeping. I went to work and wrapped it in an ace bandage for support and have taken 800 of ibuprofen every 6-8 hours for pain and hopefully to ward off any inflammation. I can bare Weight just fine but bending, like sitting in a chair or up or down steps is painful. No swelling has occured and I am on day 3 now. I have bit more range of motion (small amt) but it is very painful especially if I have a knee jerk reaction or sit or stand for long periods of time. I am afraid to lay on my stomach and let my legs fall in a natural position because I fear it may pull on that area on the back of the inside of my knee. Is this a ligament injury? If so which one? How long should I let it go before I seek medical attention? more

this is my second pregnancy but i never had this pain in my first. About 2 days ago I was throwing up, I had a Migraine, lots of acid burps and constipation. I am feeling alot better now but I have a dull, dense aching pain under my ribs, to the left of my abdomen. I am still constipated, but it is getting a bit better. The aching pain subsides after i eat yoghurt but intensifies when I haven't eaten in a while or when I lie on my left side. I have cut out sugar and bread from my diet, and I am not really feeling hungry... thank you for your help! more

I was just thinking about the time a few months ago when I had a friend call an ambulance for me to go to the hospital. I was having intense pain in my stomach, and throwing up, and losing my hearing and my vision was going blurry, and I was almost passing out so I decided on an ambulance. Well, I got to the hospital, had to wait about 45 mins before anyone even came in to ask my questions. They asked me what was wrong, etc. then just left me alone for another ~45 minutes. About once every 40-60 minutes from then, somebody came in and asked me a few questions. After about 90 minutes of being there, they gave me an IV with saline and medicine to make my nausea go away. I spent a total of something like 6-7 hours in the hospital that night. All they did was ask me what was wrong, and give me medicine for nausea. A few weeks later my dad gets the bill in the mail, and says it would have been MORE THAN $4,300 but thankfully our insurance knocked it down to $90. Why is a hospital in America, which is SO inefficient, and which didn't even do ANYTHING but give me some nausea medicine, SO EXPENSIVE???? (I would like a real answer and not some debate about health care) more

Im 15. Ive just also been put on the pill to help my period, could this be it? If not what else could it be? The pains in the stomach are all over and different times, and also some pains are totally different to others. Voting Question: Vulva, back & thigh pain...misdiagnosed many times, last resort..please read properly?

Trying to be as brief as possible, it's a long story. 19 and a virgin Six weeks ago got very deep burning, itching, swelling and stretching feeling on vulva - external only, mostly mons pubis and labia majora. Although I do have one part at the top of my clitoral hood that sometimes when pressed feels bruised. Saw doctor, didn’t examine me and said it would only be thrush. Prescribed pessary, but too swollen to take. Took oral pill instead, took another a week later and ate anti-candia diet...mild relief. Was bed bound for two weeks with an ice pack, which seemed to help. Got period a week after first pain. Pain seemed to reduce, but still linger. The day after it was supposed to end, when I woke up I maneuvered in bed and got a sharp, knife like feeling on my vulva. A few hours later, dark red blood trickled out. My mum suggested it was because I’d been lying down a lot and it hadn’t all come out. Went to A&E that day, urine detected infection; doctor suggested UTI. Examined vulva and took a swab for culture, which was satisfactory. I assume from her silence that my vulva looked normal. Was prescribed Augmentin for 7 days, felt mild relief only as it was finishing. Went to outpatient clinic, another urine test said I had no infection and that there was nothing they could do for me. Around this time I developed a dull, nagging pain in my lower left abdomen. A month later, it’s still here. It’s not very painful, but it’s noticeable and annoying. Also around this time started getting a sharp, recurrent pain my my lower back, near my left kidney. It stabs me every few seconds and last for roughly 30 seconds...comes back every now and then. One time it was intermittent with an identical pain in my left thigh. Lower back feels swollen, bruised. Saw osteopath who said my back is stiff in 3 places and will treat it, but thinks vulva pain is unrelated - says back pain may have been caused by infection and was surprised I haven’t had a gynecological ultrasound, and suggested going to GP for full blood work. Vulva pain is now mostly bruised feeling when sitting for too long. I feel discomfort (sort of like something pushing its way out from within) for approx 30 seconds and if I stand and gently move around, it seems to subside. I’ve had problems with period cramps before and have twice this past year had extremely bad cramps to the point of dizzyness and vomiting. I got the shakes and had to lie in bed in a dark room on my side and breathe into my cupped hands. After about two hours I got a kick in my stomach from within, like a big thud and it just stopped and I felt 100% fine. I saw a doctor about this who didn’t seem to care, and put me on the pill at my request. I started it in January but I only took one pack because I was worried about side effects. Could it be something to do with this? more

for over a week now i have been feeling sick all the time, at first it was just sickness , i haven't actually been being sick but just feeling it then ive been getting lower pain like a stomach ache down on the left hand side of my stomach, a couple of weeks ago i have my apendix out i was wondering if that had anything to do with it. Im not sure weather its a bug and will pass or something more. please help me im fed up with feeling like this :s more

Can I put anything else in the subject line..... :) I feel like I have everything wrong with me at the moment and I am making myself ill I think!! Basically my husband is an alcoholic, which he is getting help for, but over the last few months he has been a complete nightmare and has left me in a bit of a state really. He was verbally and mentally abusing me to the point where I was hiding in my own home as he wasn't letting me sleep, which is very silly!!! He has now seen the light and has apologised for things and is trying to get help, but because of his behaviour he has caused me to be very stressed and very very anxious all of the time, I can not seem to calm down. I am shaking typing this. Also, I was diagnosed with acid reflux about 2 months ago, and am now on lansoprozol tablets twice a day. They were helping me, but now they don't seem to be, I don't know if its because I am stressed and anxious that my stomach does feel worse. My stomach feels very tender, If I press it, It makes me feel a bit nausious for a second then goes away. I have not actually been sick at all. I was also diagnosed with a fatty liver, which is just down to diet and exercise as they did a scan of my liver, gallbladder and pancreas and all came back clear apart from the liver part. But this area sometimes feels awkward to. When I first apoke to the doctor he said that these feelings are completely normal and in time they will go away (This was before I started being anxious etc though) I have not been back to the docs since. I do feel bloated most of the time. I have lost almost 2 1/2 stone over all of this, which is great as I needed to!!! Another stress is I have ovarian cysts, I have suffered with these for the 14 years now, they dont cause any pain though, but I just want everything to go away now and for me to feel better. I want to stop feeling anxious and I am constantly shaking on the inside not on the outside if that makes sence. I feel very on edge all the time and feel better when I walk around etc!! I also now have a pain in my right calf that I am now starting to worry about. My lower left side also feels quite tender. Can I add anything else to this???? Does anyone have any advice on this other than go to my GP? Does anyone else have the same kind of thing going on. I am just really worried and thinking that other things are wrong with me. I don't know if anyone can help me but.. I have been getting pains in my stomach both left and right but mainly left.. and also in my lower back left side.. I have also lost my sence of smell & taste everything i smell or eat makes me feel sick.. my legs ache & my ribs feel bruised.. could these all be related? any sujestions would be great thanks. more

I keep getting stomach cramps really bad, i cant stand up straight, ive gotta sit on a weird angle, my stomach is sore to touch and i even have to walk kinda slumped over! sometimes i have it for just an hour or so or i get them for a day or two, im not sure what it could be. The general area for the pain is on my left side between my belly button and my ribs, but i also get it all around my stomach area and in the little v bit of my ribs. it feels like a really bad constant stitch Ive been to the doctors, an a typical doctor there not sure what it is an im waiting to go for scans. I really don't know what to do. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be or anything that could help?No, i thought that but it's not. thats why im really not sure what it could be. i did a little research on the internet an it said consipated... but its not. more

For years now I've felt completely empty and that there really is no point of me being here anymore. Last night I decided that if things are this bad next year then I will surely kill myself (I wont forget about that because, no doubt, I will still feel like this). There's this feeling in my stomach like I'm going to cry, but I can't cry, I'm just left with this feeling of.. Emptyness. I often try and talk to people about this but they just shake it off, and pretend that we never had the conversation. I have never self harmed because I'm scared I'll go too far and never stop. I don't want to upset anyone, but I feel that I need to do it to make it all stop. I kinda wanna do it to see if people will miss me or not, to see if I really was important to them or if I was just 'the freak'. I just feel so confused and messed up. I can't do anything anymore, If I get a headache or something the pain doesn't bother me at all.. It makes me feel slightly better because the other pain is gone. I'm really worried about what to do, I really don't want to do something stupid. more

Hey , For about 2/3 days now ive had really bad stomach pains but just down the left side of my stomach... they will go away and then come back. but mainly they come in the morning. they are really sharp pains like im being stabbed. another thing is... tonight i experienced like pins and needles in my fngertips but only on my left hand. I was just wondering if anyone knows whats wrong because i really hate the doctors and only usually go as a last option... p.s its not period pain because my lest period was only about 2 weeks ago. =) x more

Resolved Question: I sneezed and got a terrible pain?......?

I got out the car today and suddenly sneezed, I got the most awful pain to the left of my belly button. I doubled over and almost shouted out. It REALLY hurt. After about 20 seconds it went, and now I can't feel any pain at all. I've heard about the round ligament pain and all, I just wanted to check. I normally bend forward or hold my stomach before sneezing so I don't pull anything, but it took me by surprise, do you think it will be ok? more
