Well, little history, im in my 20s, just had a baby this past summer, and working in the medical field. I have had chronic tiredness even prior to my pregnancy, the doctors ive seen states i just need sleep, or i just need to eat right, blablabla,etc. I can sleep 12 hours and wake up being very very tired...Also i have palpitations, dizziness everynow and then, tachycardia, everynow and then i get so sob when i walk up or down the stairs, and somtimes i get this feeling like i am about to just passout because i get so tired!!!, now 2 summers ago, they found out i had Right intracranial stenosis by a procedure called MRA, at that time my symptoms were headaches, numbness/tingling to left side of body, sometimes i even get stroke like symtoms to my left side of my body, it appears for about 2-3 mins and then goes away, but i havent had those symptoms in a while, but occasionally gets weakness/tingling to my left side. i also get nauseated easily- i have no clue why, i now have this sharp pain to my right hip, it started about september and is still here, off/on pain worse than before. i saw an orthopedic doctor and xray was done, which was normal, and MRI was also done of right hip and they saw some fluids on my pelvic culdesac, since they saw fluids in that area i was then referred back to my obgyn doctor ( have an iud) , they did an ultrasound, and told me everything was normal and they didnt see any fluids in the area??... at the point i wanted to crack my head open. Now im dreading the term Ovarian cancer, right now i feel like i have to pee, i get stomach cramps for no reasons and my lower back has been hurting too.. :( Are all these symptoms in my head and im unconciously just making all these up, and everybody tells me my hip pain is probably related to picking up my 10 month old son, i seriously doubt that because i done pick him up often as i should, and if i do pick him up, i pick him up the right way... i really dont even know what to do now, my hip pain now radiates up close to my right pelvic area and radiates down to my toes, hip hurts to touch, and pain also gets worse when i ambulate. Now on my lab tests, everything was pretty much normal, my mpv was about 6.5, im guessing thats okay since its close to the minimal range. i have history of cancers both sides of my family, also have diabetes, CAD, stroke, HTN, basically all the major diseases we have! my father has leukemia and going through radiation again, his cancer came back again. Trying to be as brief as possible, it's a long story. 19 and a virgin Six weeks ago got very deep burning, itching, swelling and stretching feeling on vulva - external only, mostly mons pubis and labia majora. Although I do have one part at the top of my clitoral hood that sometimes when pressed feels bruised. Saw doctor, didn’t examine me and said it would only be thrush. Prescribed pessary, but too swollen to take. Took oral pill instead, took another a week later and ate anti-candia diet...mild relief. Was bed bound for two weeks with an ice pack, which seemed to help. Got period a week after first pain. Pain seemed to reduce, but still linger. The day after it was supposed to end, when I woke up I maneuvered in bed and got a sharp, knife like feeling on my vulva. A few hours later, dark red blood trickled out. My mum suggested it was because I’d been lying down a lot and it hadn’t all come out. Went to A&E that day, urine detected infection; doctor suggested UTI. Examined vulva and took a swab for culture, which was satisfactory. I assume from her silence that my vulva looked normal. Was prescribed Augmentin for 7 days, felt mild relief only as it was finishing. Went to outpatient clinic, another urine test said I had no infection and that there was nothing they could do for me. Around this time I developed a dull, nagging pain in my lower left abdomen. A month later, it’s still here. It’s not very painful, but it’s noticeable and annoying. Also around this time started getting a sharp, recurrent pain my my lower back, near my left kidney. It stabs me every few seconds and last for roughly 30 seconds...comes back every now and then. One time it was intermittent with an identical pain in my left thigh. Lower back feels swollen, bruised. Saw osteopath who said my back is stiff in 3 places and will treat it, but thinks vulva pain is unrelated - says back pain may have been caused by infection and was surprised I haven’t had a gynecological ultrasound, and suggested going to GP for full blood work. Vulva pain is now mostly bruised feeling when sitting for too long. I feel discomfort (sort of like something pushing its way out from within) for approx 30 seconds and if I stand and gently move around, it seems to subside. I’ve had problems with period cramps before and have twice this past year had extremely bad cramps to the point of dizzyness and vomiting. I got the shakes and had to lie in bed in a dark room on my side and breathe into my cupped hands. After about two hours I got a kick in my stomach from within, like a big thud and it just stopped and I felt 100% fine. I saw a doctor about this who didn’t seem to care, and put me on the pill at my request. I started it in January but I only took one pack because I was worried about side effects. Could it be something to do with this? more

Ok, last Friday night me and my husband were intimate. I never feel my NuvaRing so if you have to know (before you judge and say I'm dumb for not checking yadda yadda), a bad incident occured in my family right afterwards, so I was in a hurry and didn't think much about it not being in there or not, I was rushing, and just assumed everything was fine. Well 8 hours later I go to get ready for bed, and ahh! my NuvaRing! I didn't even know it came out! Ugh was I sick to my stomach about that. Ok, so since you know what happened. My question is, if I wasn't on my ring, I'd be ovulation today. What would the chances be me of getting pregnant from last fridays sperm? I know it can live in my body for up to 7 days, and I'm a nervous wreck, because I've been having a sharp pain in my lower side, that feels like ovulation and yesterday I had weird cramping like in my uterus? I only know how it feels, because I used to get the same pain before I was on the pill when I'd ovulate. I followed my pamphlet instructions, and left it in, and haven't had sex because we're not exactly ready for a baby yet, but if it comes I'd welcome it obviously. Has anyone ever experienced this, and gotten pregnant? Do you think I'm fine since I haven't had sex since the incident? Or was that one time during the incident enough to do it. I am a fifteen-year-old female grade nine student. I don't eat regularly, or eat healthily most of the time. Usually I skip lunch or breakfast, and sometimes supper. I'm 5'3 ½ and I'm about the right weight for my height and age. I have trouble falling asleep, and am usually up until midnight-2am. I get up at 7 am. So I usually get between 5-7 hours of sleep a night. I don't exercise regularly, either. Since about February (so for like 2 months), I've been feeling near-constant pain in my lower and left abdomen. I often get chills and cramps so bad that I have to double over. I also have to double over to muffle the gurgling sound coming from my stomach. It's not a gurgling from being hungry. It's quite different, and it sounds like it comes from my left side. Also, I drink a substance to curve my appetite so my stomach won't growl from hunger in class - therefore, it's not growling from being hungry, as the drink makes me feel full. My symptoms include: Dull pain near the navel, loss of appetite, nausea soon after abdominal pain begins, abdominal swelling, bloating, inability to pass gas - or too frequent gas, dull/sharp pain near my left/lower abdomen, severe cramps, constipation, weight loss, pain in the chest, behind breastbone (once or twice), coughing, hoarseness, indigestion, (I get secondhand smoke), weakness, pain/tenderness in the lower left side of the abdomen, chills, fever, stomach cramps, tiredness. I get dull, gnawing stomach pain that comes and goes. The pain is often worse when my stomach is empty, and sometimes goes away after eating. I don't think I digest properly, and sometimes feel nauseated. Often, I feel like I have to pas gas, but sometimes I can't, or I have to hold it in. Also - "Abdominal pain in IBS is often characterized as being intermittent or constant, tender upon palpation and can be relieved by passing gas or having a bowel movement. It has also been described along a range from mild to severe. The pain can become so severe that it can affect the sufferer's quality of life and cause the person to miss school, work, and other social events." My pain on the left/lower side ranges from mild to severe, and sometimes can be relieved by passing gas, having a bowel movement, or eating. Recently, it's been getting worse and worse and I keep missing school, and I fear that I may fail or something. But it's not my fault - it's so distracting that I can't think or concentrate, and it's hard to try and work when you can feel and hear your abdominal organs messing around. My symptoms point to some of the following: -Appendicitis -Esophageal Cancer (I don't think I have cancer) -IBS; Irritable Bowel Syndrome -Diverticulitis -A stomach ulcer (peptic ulcer) -Gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining) -Small or large bowel obstruction -Ulcerative colitis (with pain in the left side) -Dysentery -A mass -A hernia (both my mom and her brother have them) -An obstruction -Indigestion -Constipation I can't go see a doctor right now because my mom has to fill out some forms. I would go to the walk-in clinic, but I'm not sure how much help they'll be. What would I tell the doctors anyway? I couldn't just give them the list of my symptoms, it would probably be shrugged off as indigestion or constipation. And I don't think this can be shrugged off as constipation or indigestion if it happens so frequently unless there's something wrong with my diet/body/lifestyle. But then - how would my diet cause fevers, chills, and so much pain? The pain comes and goes so I can't ever say when it will occur. The pain usually begins between 9:20am and 10:45am and continues to come and go throughout the day, and make gurgling sounds and cause cramps and pain. When the pain starts early in the day, like today - it began when I woke up - then I know it will last a while. And it has - ever since it started this morning, it's been acting up horribly, as usual - so I came home sick. I don't know how to describe the pain/symptoms/illness to my friends/family, because I don't know what it is I have. All I know is that I experience pain, bloating, loss of appetite, fever, chills, inability to pass gas - or too frequent gas, constipation, coughing (sometimes), indigestion (sometimes), weakness (sometimes), tiredness and cramps the most - but mostly just horrible pain and gurgling sounds. When it hurts my left side - it hurts my entire left side of my torso - it's so bad that I have to literally clutch my side, and dig my fingers into my skin. Applying pressure helps sometimes, but I also experience lower abdomen pain, like around my waist. So - what do you think it is? I don't know if it is just constipation or indigestion, or what it is I have. I don't want to overreact, because I think I might be, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. And I haven't gotten my booster shot since my first one - do you think that will make things worse for me? more

A few things you need to know. I am 28 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I have polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid). It's so much that my OB wants me to have some drained. I'll see about that Tuesday at my next ultrasound. I have a 5cm fibroid at the top of my uterus that the placenta is attached to. This is my fourth pregnancy. My last was a twin pregnancy. I was in the hospital once a month because of preterm contractions with that pregnancy. all my pregnancy have been close together. Now to what I have been feeling. The past 3 days I have been having mild cramps and a lower backache. It was been constant. I have also been having a few bh contractions. They have just been uncomfortable and annoying until today. This morning I woke up at about 5:30 with sever back pain and really bad cramps. I was feeling a lot of pressure in the stomach, butt, and thighs. I felt like like I had to use the bathroom. When I tried nothing would come out. Every few minutes I would get a sharp pain that would move from the back to front. It didn't feel like a contraction. It was sharp like how round ligament pain can be. After feeling that sharp pain I would notice that I would feel an in increase in pressure and tightening for about 30 seconds. That was happening every 8 mins. I was in a lot of pain. My husband wanting me to go to the hospital then but I didn't think I needed to go. I tried drinking 2 32oz cups of water, taking tylenol, laying on my left side (laying down was most uncomfortable of all), and taking a warm bath to make that pain stop, but nothing helped. It easier to deal with when I would stand. After 3hrs it stopped. I still have a mild backache and cramps, but not tightening. A little over an hour ago it all started again. Now that tightening is coming every 5mins and lasting a minute. I don't know if it's contractions or not because of the sharp pains. My preterm contractions with the twins didn't feel anything like this. I have called my husband so I can go to the hospital. I just wanted to know if any one else has felt like this. For the past week or so i have been experiencing lower left abdominal pain. I don't know how to pin point an exact point but it's kind of all over the left side near my hip area/stomach and along my stomach bellow my belly button Pain dull, sharp and intense often occurs when i am laying on my back or when i am just sitting in a chair. The pain could also be described as the feeling that occurs when you have a full bladder and you wait too long to release it. There is no obvious bludges on my stomach, it looks the same. I also have a the slightest yellowing colour coming into my eyes (closest to the nose). It's not obvious until someone gets up close to me and looks at my eyes or i myself get up close to a mirror. I feel completely fine apart from a little dissyness when i stand to quickly, or a turn around to quick or if i lift my head to quickly (has also come on in the past week). I feel a little weak, have started getting a weezing sound after i have been active even after just a 2minute game of fetch with my dog. I am a healthy person, i exercise. I could probably have a better diet and cut out some junk food. Apart from pains, weakness and dissyness i feel absolutely fine. I know instead of sitting on the computer i should be seeing a doctor but i wanted to know if it is the soundings of a 'real' problem. I am also 18 and had no sexual contact. So about 1 1/2 months ago I was hit really hard on the left side of my head (it bled and then swelled and then went away), and a couple of weeks ago I was sick from strep throat for a week. NOW, for the past week, I have had constant stomach aches (especially in the center and under my ribs), soft stool, head aches (in the front of my head, near my temples, and in the area where I was hit), sharp shooting head pains in addition to the headaches, constant feelings of my head and face being squeezed, chest pains in all area of my chest, neck pains, a swollen area right where my neck meets my head (about 3 inches wide), joint and muscle pains, and pains in the area behind my ears. Sometimes, I also have pain above and under both eyes. I also consistently wake up in the middle of the night and can't go to sleep for an hour before I go back to sleep. Also, I have a low grade fever, and I feel fatigued. This kind of stuff has never happened to me before this week. I am only a teenager and I hope a professional can help me out! My blood tests so far were fine and my doctor prescribed me an MRI and EKG, but my appointments are a couple weeks away, so I just need some advice and any idea of what's going on in my body. Hi, I am 30 weeks pregnant exactly with my 2nd child. I have been having some mild to severe cramping and sharp pains starting on the lower left side of my stomach. It sends pains all the way up that side of my stomach and to my back. Drinking water and switching positions dont seem to help. My waters hasn't broke, and no sign of a mucus plug yet. My bowel movements seems normal, no trouble urinating and no blood have been seen yet. The pain is off and on and some start out mild and get more sever and last around 30-45 seconds. Once to the point where i was out of breath and had to sit down. The only thing is they aren't really scheduled. I can have one of these fits and another 40 mins later, and then 30 min after that one. Does anyoen have an idea of what it could be??? Or what i should do? Thanks more

Has this happened to anyone? or could anyone please advise what could be up, as this has never happened before. Resolved Question: Has anyone experienced sharp pain in lower stomach if pregnant?....Worried!....?

I have been having spotting on March 2nd-5th and light bleeding on March 6th-9th. Now on March 26th-31st has been nothing but light bleeding and brownish/pinkish spotting. I feel nauseated in the mornings and been having pains (light cramps) on left side of stomach off and on and getting headaches almost everyday. This morning (march 31st), I woke up at 5:00 am having really sharp lower stomach pains, I'm I experiencing a miscarriage or is it just a symptom of pregnancy? I'm willing to take a HPT but I want to get the accurate results and I don't have medical insurance no more since my husband got fired from his job and I work part-time, so I can't go to the doctor right now. Has anyone experienced this? Please let me know, I am worried......and been having alot of gas problems, sorry if too much information but I've been passing gass a whole lot and can't seem to hold it in more

Are you okay?!” I yelled at the top of my lungs but it was almost as if she couldn’t hear me. And slowly the blurry images and figures began to come together in focus, and words began to flow clearer, and then, slowly, I realized I wasn’t dead. Worse. I was alive. I could hear the beeping from the EKG meter and the sound of carts being pushed down the long hallways. I could feel the air coming from the tube against my nose and a small pinch coming from the top of my hand. I was in a hospital, and for once, I was one of the patients. I began to turn and that’s when I felt the sharp piercing pain coming from the side of my stomach. I suddenly remembered what had happened and I quickly pushed those thoughts far in the back of my head. I think I pulled a muscle along my spine. I was laying on my stomach with my forearms propping up my upper body. I was relaxed so my spine was sinking between my shoulder blades. But I made the mistake of turning my head to the left to look at something. I felt a VERY sharp pain/catch in my lower neck/upper back area. Since then I've been having pain (soreness and tightness) along the right side of my spine, but the pain also radiates along the top of my right shoulder blade, over the outside of my shoulder, down the back of my arm, and across the top of my forearm. I was having very bad spasms in my tricep and some in my chest. Is it possible that I pulled a muscle along my spine which in turn became inflamed and put pressure on nerves that go to my chest and arm? If so, what muscle is it and how can I make it heal? more

Resolved Question: Sharp pains in the left side of my lower stomach but not a cist on my ovary?

I started having sharp pains in the left lower part of my stomach..below my hip-bone..about two days after I stopped my period. The first day the pains would come and go but they were extremely painful. The second day I woke up and my whole left side of my stomach hurt as well as my inner thigh. I went to my gyno and they thought it may have been a cist on my ovary but they did an ultrasound and didn't find one. My Doctor said I may have had one but it went away and prescribed me darvocet and said the pain would go away. Today is the third day and the pain has spread to the right side of my stomach. Could it be apedicitis? I looked up symptoms for that and it doesn't sound like it. Also, the darvocet is not even phasing my pain and seems to give me a headache. Is there a different pain killer for this kind of pain? more

Resolved Question: Stomach flu then ibs?

Hey i have had the stomach flu for about 2 weeks now, atleast i hope it is the stomach flu, it started with vomiting aches and pains cramps etc. but afterwards i felt extremely bloated, i started worrying googling and diseases because i have never experienced any thing like that.. i was having soft stools when i was bloated but that could just be cuz i was eating applesauce and bananas etc and it can take a while to get your bowels back on track.. then i started to get more sharp pains and discomfort more on the right side and it almost feels as if my left side is normal most the time.. sometimes the pain crawls over to the left but not often.. its mostly right side and right lower back.. i got extremely stressed and anxious about the whole thing now i think i might of actually given myself ibs from the anxiety i was experiencing.. i have a gastro appt. tomorrow the bloating has gone down now its mostly just a dull ache sometimes sharp pain on rite side.. i know this isnt a normal recovery time for the stomach flu.. and yes i know its not actually called that.. but is it possible it can take this long? or did i develop ibs? or anything else serious like that? i havnt vomited since and i am taking vicodin so i feel a lil constipated going once a day and dry small stools.. i am a 19 year old male and i am looking for any relief here mentally and physically.. any input would b great other then telling me its called the norovirus not the stomach flu.. will i ever go back to normal??????forgot to mention.. no stomach problems in the past other then when i was an infant.. no stomach problems in my family history.. Ok for the past week or so i have had a sharp shooting pain in my upper back. next to my left shoulder blade, its so severe that i get dizzy and see stars. 5 nights ago i was up all night with diarreha and stomach cramps. 3 nights ago i was up all night with the bubbly feeling in my stomach and stomach cramps, but diarreha like pain only it was constipation. 2 days ago i started throwing up, and the stomach cramps have moved to my lower stomach, on the right side right above my underwear line. its a shooting pain. i am bloated beyond belief, if i press on the painful area then take my hand off it hurts so much i am brought to tears. i cant keep any food down, no liquids nothing. my throat is so sore and raw, my glands are swollen now, and i believe its all from throwing up. but i dont have a fever. what could this be.im still throwing up, and have not pooped in almost 5 days. i keep feelin like i have to poop but the only thing that came out was mucous im probably going to the e.r. if i dont feel better in a few hours. more

Resolved Question: Pelvic pain since July?

I have been having abdominal/pelvic pain since July of 2008. The pain is in the lower left part of my abdomen near my pelvis (a sharp pain) that is worse at times, but can come and go. Last night I could feel the pain along the left and right side of my abdomen from my rib cage down. The abdominal pain has been giving me lower back pain that hurts when I lay down but after a while it feels better. I can also feel the pain along my lower stomach. If I have to use the restroom the pain feels a little stronger but when I went to the doctor in July they tested my urine and said it was normal for and I didn't have an infection. (Bladder, UTI, etc.) They were not sure what the pain is but they said I should get an Ultrasound, but I never did. I am 17 years old. What are my options of what this could be? more

from my upper abdomen to my lower abdomen is hurting. not constant pain but all of that area is sore and sometimes has sharp pains. it also burns when i piss. any idea what's up? i know go to the doctor....but i have no insurance so i honestly can't afford the tests they are going to do on me but i will if you think it's anything serious. most of the pains are coming from my left and right side that range from my upper abdomen to my lower abdomen on both sides. also have random pains on my stomach and below it. i have no other symptoms or problems just the pain and burning when i take a piss. three weeks ago i was tested for UTI and it came up negative. i was given antibiotics anyway and it didn't help. my temperature is perfectly fine as well. any idea what it could be?and its been like this for 4 days now and the burning when i take a piss has been going on for a few months more

Voting Question: I Need help bad! Stomach problems for a long time.?

For the past couple of months I have been having pretty bad pain directly under my rib cage. Most of the time the pain is directly in the middle under my sternum and on my left side under the rib, and occasionally it is on my right side. It is a sharp pain. I have seen the doctor, gotten blood work, upper GI, ultrasound and endoscopy and they have found nothing. I have been on Prilosec for about a month and occasionally I have heart burn and take Tums for it. The Tums take care of the heart burn but does not help with the sharp pain below the rib cage. This pain comes and goes through out the day and lasts for different lengths of time. I have been eating a very bland diet with little fat or acid for a few weeks but nothing seems to help. The pain in the middle under my sternum is especially bad if I eat to much of anything. It is painful to lie flat on my back so I have pillows propping my upper body up while I sleep. Today things are especially bad. I have felt like I might vomit most of the day, and I have burning feeling that is lower, like around my belly button and it is non responsive to tums. And this is all on top of the usual pain below the rib cage in the middle and on my right side. Some background on me. I am 21, I do not drink or smoke at all and I have always eaten fairly well. I weight 130lbs so I am pretty thin but I get plenty to eat, and I have never regularly eaten very fatty foods and always a lot of fruits and vegetables. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be. I have another doctors appointment soon but so far doctors have not helped. more

Resolved Question: Should I see a doctor when the emergency room said it wasn't appendicitis?

For two days, my 12 year old had been complaining of a stomach ache. He thought he had eaten something bad but we all ate the same things for the past two days so it couldn't have been the food. He didn't have any bowel problems or felt like throwing up and he asked to stay home from school (he rarely asks this). With no temperature, I sent him to school and told him to see the nurse if the problem got worse. Two hours later, his nurse calls and tells me he had a low grade fever and she would give him some tylenol. About an hour later, she calls back and left a message that he complained that the pain had gotten worse. He takes a nap after school and tells me PE was horrible. He couldn't run. He had trouble describing the pain. We later visit the pharmacy to see if perhaps he was experiencing gas or maybe he needed peptol. It still didn't seem like it would resolve this. He tells me the pain was below his belly and then now traveled towards the right side. I let him stay with grandma and later, I thought, perhaps it was appendicitis. He reported feeling sharper pains when he was running and his belly felt funny... nothing like he felt before... just strange and he didn't describe it to be sharp like knives. Anyway, after 5 hours and a CAT scan at the emergency room, it's now a mystery diagnosis because the doc there is pretty sure it's not an appendicitis due to the CAT scan. He suggests Milk of Magnesia and to contact his regular doctor for further diagnosis. It seemed as though my son discribes the pain as being very dull. He did swim a little today and said it gave him a headache and his abdomen felt wierd again, but nothing like it was two days ago. I'm wondering if he was just constipated? Would all of these sypmtops be present for that? and if it was just constipation... I'm guessing it might be necessary to see his regular doctor now. Has any parents out there experienced this? more

I am 30 weeks pregnant and woke up today with a pretty bad pain sitting in my lower left side of my stomach. It seems to get even worse when I walk or even move the "wrong" way. Its like a sharp cramping pain that won't fully subside. It even sits in my hip and runs down my leg. Could this be because baby is sitting on something? any suggestions would be great! I just got back from a long walk and I was fine after, just very cold. After a few hours though, while I was sitting down I noticed some discomfort on the middle (maybe lower) right side of my stomach. It hurt more when I got up and was walking around, and the pain isn't like gas pains or anything. I can really feel it in the specific area when I twist to the left, but not to the right while sitting down. It hurt to urinate also. I have no other symptoms, and I don't have my period (which is regular, by the way) I have never felt this before, and I'm thinking somehow it's an abdominal muscle strain, but I don't know. It's not really bad, mostly annoying. What could it be and how can I treat it?I really doubt I'm dehydrated because I drink around eight water bottles a day. :)Nope, doesn't sound like a kidney stone, but thanks for trying. Ok, just to start out and sorry for this being so long. In January I had 2 periods, the 1st until the 7th and the second period was on January 27th and it lasted about 5 or 6 days. My period is not always at the exact same time but normally last 7 days. Now for the past couple of days I have been having pain in my lower stomach (around my ovaries, mostly on the left side) I have been pregnant twice before and the first time I only found out because I sudenly got a horrible sharp pain in my left side so bad I couldn't move or speak. I went to the er and they said I was pregnant. The second time I got pregnant within 24 hours of finding out I was in the emergency room with the same pain. They said the pain was just from being pregnant. I shouldn't have my next period for about another week but I am really wondering if I an pregnant. The pain is off and on and very painful and it also hurt yesterday when I had sex. I do not have insurance. Does anyone know what this maybe? It's driving me crazy not knowing if I am pregnant. more

Also like 2 months ago I took some prescription medicine for a sinus infection and since then I have been farting more then usual and it smells really bad, like rotten eggs. For the past week my stomach has been hurting on and off. It started with a sharp pain on my left side that went away after just a few minutes. But now my stomach will hurt for a few minutes on the left, stop, a few hours later it will hurt on the right, stop.... It is not an unbearable pain, just a dull pain. Also my lower back is hurting a tiny bit. For the past week I have also been having cramps from having to go to the bathroom and I have been going "# 2" more then usual. Oh also for the past week I have had a lot of gas, like a lot of burping... Oh if it help I have a history of having gas, like burping... I have been eating normal (so it is not like I have lost my appetite), if anything the last few days I have been hungryer then normal (probably cause it is all comming out the other end...) I don't know if it has anything to do with it or not but I have also been itchy, but I think that is just from the stale air in the winter. So does it sound like the meds are what messed up my system. If so what can I do to get my system regular again. Or do you think it is just a stomach bug or do you think it is something serious?? Voting Question: What is wrong with me?

For the past week my stomach has been hurting on and off. It started with a sharp pain on my left side that went away after just a few minutes. But now my stomach will hurt for a few minutes on the left, stop, a few hours later it will hurt on the right, stop.... It is not an unbearable pain, just a dull pain. Also my lower back is hurting a tiny bit. Also like 2 months ago I took some prescription medicine for a sinus infection and since then I have been farting more then usual and it smells really bad, like rotten eggs. For the past week I have also been having cramps from having to go to the bathroom and I have been going "# 2" more then usual. Oh also for the past week I have had a lot of gas, like a lot of burping... I have been eating normal (so it is not like I have lost my appetite), if anything the last few days I have been hungryer then normal (probably cause it is all comming out the other end...) I don't know if it has anything to do with it or not but I have also been itchy, but I think that is just from the stale air in the winter. Do you think it is just a stomach bug or am I just "irregular" or could it be a combination of gas and sleeping wrong or do you think it is something serious?? Should I go to the doctor?? I have a sharp pain on the lower right side of my abdomen. In kind comes and goes but it is very painful when it is there. I have had this kind of pain for about 12 hours now, and before that i just had dull pain in the lower middle part of my stomach. It hurts the right side when i press and release on the left side and my right side hurts when i press and release on my right side. I have hardly eaten in a while and have a bit of a fever. The only thing is the pain is bad but its not terrible. Could this be appendicitis? Thanks more

hi, i'm 17 years old, and i probably shouldn't be looking for answers on yahoo questions, but i don't have health insurance, because i just moved to a new state. i was just hoping someone who had a similiar problem would stumble upon this and help me out. i've always had odd problems with my stomach, lots of distention sometimes, but i never think to bring it up with a doctor. i have a hernia about 7 years ago (when i was 10) and they decided to operate because it was causing me pain. but i was fine, and out of the hospital the next day, no problem. but my stomach cramping has been getting worse. i always thought it was brought on by certain foods, but i've been sleeping a lot and not eating much, and it seems to be getting worse. my menstrual cycle is very odd (i usually get a 7day period every 5-6 weeks), and it's usually rather heavy. but i was two weeks late (meaning i had 1 month and 3 weeks between my last two periods) and it was really light, and not the same as it usually is. my lower stomach has been reaaally distended. i woke up this morning and it was really achy, so while still laying down, i lifted my shirt, and saw that the right side, directly next to my belly button is very, very raised. more so than the left side. i felt and pushed down a bit and noticed a rather large lump, about the size of a golf ball. i don't think it's a hernia, because i have to push pretty deep to feel the shape of it. its tender to the touch and even when i'm not touching it, it aches. i'm really freaked out, because it's never been this distended, especially on just one side. medical history: - hernia 7 years ago, frequent stomach pain and bloating, i guess? - went to the emergency room twice during 2006 because of terrible stomach cramping, appendicitus was suspected, but they sent me home about 8 hours later, after performing an ultrasound and finding nothing. symptoms: - very odd, painful, and light period. ended about two days after it started. - i had awful sharp pains in my right side a few weeks ago, my school nurse sent me home because she was worried it might be my appendix. i read online that it could be an ovarian cyst? but i couldn't find out how long they take to develop. my mother had ovarian cancer, but she went through light chemo and she's fine now, cancer free. any advice or personal stories would be greatly appreciated. thanks for taking the time to read all of this! :)i'm still a virgin, so pregnancy isn't a possiblity. more

this be? It's MY left, by the way. I don't think it's my stomach because I've had stomach pain before and this is in a completely different spot. I think it's some kind of organ, but I don't know what organ is located in that area of the human body. I will be going to the doctor tomorrow if need be, but I'd like any advice to stop the pain momentarily, or ideas of what this could be.OH, and it has nothing to do with menstruation or anything (At least, not that I know of). more

I'm 13, and have been experiencing some occasional pain in my lower left ribs, and stomach and sometimes in my lower left back. I have no other symptoms other then that. This morning I woke up feeling really weak and out of breath. I have notice that i had a really bad cramp on my lower stomach and a sharp pain on my left side by my ovary. I didn't tell my mom because i thought the pain would go away. By the time i was in 2nd period it had gotten worse (the cramps and weakness) by 3rd i went to the restroom and i saw spotting [not heavy though] i was more scared because i didn't know why it happened. i go to the restroom once again and the spotting had gotten worse. i went to the nurse, i called my mom and left her a message seeing if she could take me to the doctor. i feel like i want to faint right now and early this morning i was to weak to finish my breakfast. Ok, so I'm having sharp pains in my lower left side of my stomach. It only hurts every once in a while. Btw, I'm 13. When it hurts, I can't even move or walk it hurts so bad, but then at other times, it will just kind of throb. The thing is, is that my period was due 4 days ago, and it hasn't came. My period is usually every 28 days and last 7 days. I know in girls my age, that periods are irregular, but do you think the pain and my period being so late have anything to do with it? I don't know what's wrong with me. These past months I've been having all sorts of problems. The left side of my shoulder blade has been hurting nonstop everyday. I have good posture, but it feels better on my back when I slouch. My breasts are always hurting as well. I can't lay down on them at all because I get sharp pains in both. I'm a teenager so I guess they might still be growing but they've been hurting for a couple years now. I've had discharge everyday in my nipples. I'm always tired, I get lower stomach pains all the time. My period comes at odd times. It may come in a month or 3 months. I sweat even when it's cold outside. Like today, it was raining but I was sweating like a ran a mile. Last but not least, I always get rashes. I should go to the doctors but what should I say? The doctor is probably going to look at me like I don't take care of myself.I'm a vegetarian, I don't drink soda, and I get enough protein.& my knees are really weak. It hurts walking up the stairs and jogging. I do exercise, I play tennis everyday. more
