Resolved Question: Girls, what are these pains I'm getting downstairs?

Hi girls, I hope you can help put my mind at rest a bit. Here goes with the info, I had thrush about a week ago and I treated it with Canesten Pessery and Cream and I dont think it was fully successful with the treatment as the oessary came out lumpy which means it didnt break down as it should of done, it took a couple more days for it to clear up with the help of the cream. Now I am sore inside, it gets especially worse during or after sex depending on how we do it, my bits tend to go bright red inside after sex which is worrying as it is not usually like that, also just these past couple of days I have been experiencing lower stomach pains, similar to where you would experience period pains just above the pubic bone which is also causing me lower back problems. I am starting to get really worried as to what this could be, my partner and I use condoms, and I have always been a very safe person when it comes to protection, also I am on the contraceptive pill if that helps you. I have made a doctors appointment but that is not until Monday next week, as that was the earliest appointment they had. I need some reasurrance that I dont have anything terrible like cervical cancer! Please help, never had any major problems down there before! Thanks girls. Would like to ask that if you dont know what your talking about please dont answer as this is a sensitive matter for me and I would appreciate your kindness. Thanks x more

Voting Question: Stomach Cramps, Help?

Tuesday morning I had the Cervical Cancer Vaccine, From Tuesday morning I had loose bowel movements but figured that was because I was nervous as I really hate needles. Wednesday I woke up very very ill, very weak, couldn't stand properly, severe headache & backache and feeling sick along with being hot then shivering then hot then shivering again, after taking a Paracetemol I felt slightly better but for today (Thursday) I have had very awful pains in my stomach and loose bowel movements alot! It has stopped me from going to work as I don't want to be popping off every 2 minutes to go to the loo! Anybody have any ideas? I have heard it may be something to do with pregnancy and I am currentlely having unprotected sex. Any advice would be great! Thanks! (And sorry for being graphic!)To add to this, I'm only having unprotected sex with a long term partner, He and I were both checked before becoming intimate so STI's are very unlikely. more

i've had this pain about 3-4 years ago but even more so the past year. sometimes the pain goes to my back and up the shoulder blade. i've had an xray done and the doc told me it is constipation and trapped wind and gave me laxatives. the constipation is cured but the pain is still there. i am truly scared as i am thinking bowel/colon/liver cancer! scared to go to the doctor for more tests! more

Resolved Question: Why am I pooing blood? Anyone else experienced this?

I woke up yesterday morning, about 6am, with the biggest stomach ache ever. I had to run to the toilet, and found I have diarrhoea. 3 more trips to the toilet and I found I had pooed blood. Not a lot, just a shot glass full. It didn't hurt, but was pretty scary. My stomach, and especially my kidneys, have hurt since I woke up. So I decided to go to the doctors. The doctor said it might me food poisoning, although I haven't eaten meat, or a badly prepared meal in days. The doctor said to not eat for 24 hours, and if I'm still bleeding, to come back. Well, it is now 3am the following day and I'm still having bloody poo and my kidneys are really hurting. I also realised that it's the 3am on SATURDAY and the doctors aren't even open until monday. Anyone experienced a situation like this before? Anyone know what could be going on with me? My bum doesn't hurt at all, so it cant be piles, surely. It can't be kidney stones despite the pain in my kidneys, as I'd have bloody urine, not bloody poo. The only other illness I can think of is cancer, although I thought bowel cancer is super rare in 21 year olds such as myself. Should I wait until monday if I'm still pooing blood, or should I go to AE? more

Resolved Question: Inflamed Testical non-troll?

my right testical changes size all the time, from being the same size as my left to 4/5 times bigger depending on exercise. With my left I can feel the tubing connecting it but with my right it's just all testical. There is no unusual pain and as it's been like this for atleast 6 years I'm pretty sure it isn't cancer. Also, my right prostate is inflamed (I think) - I am not sexually active and I seem to ejaculate the normal amount. When pressure is applied to my right prostate there can be pain, and I often get stomach cramps. I don't really want advice saying run to the doctor or whatever, just if anyone knows what it is? I've tried online diagnosis but I have no idea, all the diseases I've read show symptoms of pain but I have none. any ideas? ^^ more

Resolved Question: Please help, Im really worried- im 14 and ovarian cancer?

Okay im 14 and ive persistantly had the symptoms of gas, backache, stomach pain, diarhea, change in bowel habits for more than 3 weeks. Ive looked it up and these are symptoms of ovarian cancer. I know that these symptons are more commonly recognized as irritable bowel syndrome and other diseases but it sounds silly but ive just got a really bad feeling about this and all the time, theres things about people not recognizing ovarian cancer early and things like that around. Ive got a doctors appointment but how can I get them to take my symptoms seriously and not dismiss it as IBS? more

Resolved Question: Has anyone else had this I'm worried?

I have been having period like pain and pain in my lower back and feel the need to go to for a wee for a few weeks now. I went to the GP and they gave me antibiotics and said possible infection. However I have finished the course and still get the urge to go for wee and still have pain in my hips and lower stomach. I keep having pain in my thighs too like growing pains. At one point felt like labour pains (I had baby year ago but I'm not pregnant as far as I know) I am really worried about cancer and things like that. Anyone else had this or similar?I had IBS until I was pregnant but this doesn't feel like that at all. It is much lower in my stomach. more

Resolved Question: Constant ticklish throat?

What could this be? It started out over 2 months ago as a feeling of mild tonsillitis. When it became an acute ulcer like pain that made eating difficult I went to see a doctor. She sent me to an ENT doctor (ear, nose, throat) who put a device down my nose into my throat. By the time I saw him the pain had mainly gone and it was just a ticklish feeling now and then. He said there was no evidence of throat cancer and said it might be excess stomach acid rising and tickling my throat. He gave me some pills to help this. He noticed my throat was slightly red which he attributed to smoking but I have hardly smoked at all in the last 4 years. That was 4 weeks ago. Since then my throat has gotten progressively more and more ticklish. Now its a constant ticklish feeling and I am often coughing. There is no flem when I cough. I've only remembered to take about 10 pills but they've made no difference I don't think since it's just gotten worse. Anyone know what this could be? Should I go back and see him? Thanks more

Resolved Question: Vomiting blood - is my friend faking an illness?

A friend and work colleague has had many days off over the past couple of years, supposedly because he often gets stomach pains and vomits blood. Now, this friend of mine has been known to be untruthful on many occasions, with prior known lies including a made-up girlfriend (a rich model whose parents were in the UN) and being part of a guitar band (which turned out not to exist). No-one I know has actually witnessed him vomiting blood. I feel bad for questioning his health, but something about this doesn't ring true, and of course he's a known liar. According to my friend, his blood-work came back clear (so it's not an ulcer, cancer or one of the obvious infections). He also claims to have had an endoscopy, which turned up negative. Apparently, his doctors say that he just has a 'sensitive stomach', and there's nothing they can give him to cure it. As such, he intermittently has a few days off work about once every month with the ailment. I would feel sorry for the guy if he's genuinely ill, but I'm still doubtful at present. Are his symptoms possible? Does his story tally with known medical facts? Are there any questions I can ask him that would prove that he's lying or not? Although he's an idiot, he's an otherwise really nice guy and I woudn't want to see him get sacked. Thanks in advance! more

Resolved Question: Worrying about cervical cncer?

I feel really sad for Jade Goody and I cannot begin to imagine how she must be feeling about what is happening to her. However, I don't think people want it in their faces every day. I know that she's doing what she's doing for her childrens future but I'm starting to get paranoid and depressed. Every twinge in my stomach is making me nervous and I'm worrying about gynaecological cancers. The symptoms of cervical cancer can go unnoticed (look at Jade) until the later stages and doctors are blind to symptoms. You get fobbed off and told that you're too young for this and too young for that. You're never too young to get cancer but doctors don't get this. They can't be bothered to investigate and often just give you pain killers. Since I've had my baby, that's their excuse for everything...'You've had a baby so that will explain why you have this pain/ache'. This whole situation with Jade is freaking me out. Does anyone else feel the same? I don't mean to sound selfish because she's the one who has something real to worry about...this is happening to her right now.........but I don't want to be faced with it every day.I know they can't afford to perform tests on every single female but on the other hand, they shouldn't just blame everything on period pains and child birth. more

Resolved Question: do you think this could all be from stress?

sorry if this is long but i could do with some advice..i'll try to be as short as i can be but sorry if it goes on lol 8 years ago i met a guy and we fell in love, we had 2 children together, after the firsrt one was born things started getting bad at home, he was nasty to my oldest who wasnt his child and caused a lot of stress, i started to worry about what would happen when he got back from work that day, then i miscarried in 2004 and fell pregnant again shortly after and had my 2nd child with him in 2005, things got no better he got worse, he started being nice one minute nasty the next, cutting his arms infront of the children jumped through the bedroom window and basically made life at home stressful, i had him arrested a few weeks before i found out i was pregnant with our 2nd child because he came home from work and started smashing the house up for no reason and terrified us, i forgave him and had him back and subsequently had another child (stupid i know) then in 2007 we moved to another house hoping for a fresh start, 3 weeks after we moved in he left with an aquaintance of mine.. during the time i was with him i would get stomach pains like acid pains on and off and sometimes pain in my right side of my back but it wasnt all the time. when he left 2 years ago i started to feel a little better in myself the stress seemed to have gone and i seemed ok. i then met my now husband, we got on really well, i moved in with him 18 months ago and we married in october last year, unfortunately my husband has a drink problem, and when he drinks a lot he can get nasty with his words which stresses me out, my pains have come back, the stomach acid feeling is not daily but is bad when it occurs, but my back pain and pain in my side can be excruciating, im still trying to take my name off the house i owned with my ex but he is being a jerk about it. so i have that stress too. i've spoken to my dr about my pains in my back and he is sending me for a gallbladder scan saying it could be something to do with that, since he mentioned gallbladder i've been constantly worried i might have cancer and am going to die, every day i worry and cry. i have had the most awfull few months, i married on october 11th found out my baby had died on october 13th gave birth to my dead baby on october 16th she was 20 weeks gestation, had a funeral for her 3 weeks later and had a D&C on november 25th becasue there was placenta left which was causing problems. i dont know whether im over reacting about the back pains being cancer or something, the pain can vary from a bad ache to feeling like someone stuck a screw driver through me. always in the same place, on the right hand side around the area of where the liver is. could it all be just from so much stress over the last few years? do i just need to learn some relaxation technics to help with it? im 29 so im not old really lol... but i know since 2002 when my son was born things have been stressful. also just to add my oldest she is 13 and i have caught her in bed with 2 different boys, she ran away from home once and threatens that every time i ask her to do something she doesnt want to do, and she has an over exagerated teenage attitude! just to clarify the question could my pains be due to stress? more

Resolved Question: Could i have cystitis or some sort of disease? please help?

Recently i have felt the need to urinate more often, although when i go to the toilet nothing really comes out. When it does it is painful & i am left with a 'burning' sensation. I also have a tiny bit of blood.. but not a lot. This is strange as it seems to be on/off throughout the day.. sometimes i feel fine & it does not hurt or bleed... other times it is really sore & i feel very ill I've had stomach cramps that feel like period pain (altho i am not on or due on) I also had to stop having sex as it was far too painful It almost feels like the problem is internal? I've never felt anything like this before. I know it can't be an STI but have been told it could be bacteria in my bladder or cystitis... or even worse cervical cancer?! with all the talk about it lately i have become rather worried. Does anyone know what could be wrong with me? & if there's anything i can do before i visit my doctor? I would really appreciate it more

Resolved Question: I had black stool 3 times, then it went back to normal. Diet slightly suppressed. What's wrong with me?

I ate a huge bag of Cadbury mini eggs and maybe they cut my stomach a bit causing me to have black stool for a little while. I was supposed to take blood-stool tests but once my stool was back to normal I figured I would be ok. I never had any real pain in my stomach so I figure I don't have an ulcer. My only concern now is lately (past week) I haven't been that hungry. I haven't lost any weight but I'm still pretty worried about my situation. Do you think the mini eggs (hard shell candy) was the cause of the bleeding? Maybe I can't eat because I'm slightly nervous about the prospect of stomach cancer, releasing stress cortisol and suppressing my diet? Who knows, hope somebody does. Need to relieve some of this worry. Cheers, Justin. more

Resolved Question: Abdomen pain just under the rib?

Right guys, I have a question for you. Near my liver/gall bladder, I have a sort of let's say full feeling, as in there's something there that doesn't fit. I mean, when I feel around to see what it is, it's a muscle because when I tense my stomach it goes rock hard like the rest of my stomach, but it's only on my right side, and from time to time I can feel a sort of pain. If I 'breathe in' as most people like to call it, I can feel something get stuck on my rib, but it can't be cancer or anything like that because it's literally about 3/4mm big, and feels like some kind of nerve or vain or something, rather than a lump. I was just wondering if any of you think it's due to excessive masturbation? (I don't mean to offend anyone) I mean, I'm 15 years old and as all you adults know, 15 is the hormonal stage. Just the thought that I could've overworked one side of the body, because you work your stomach area whilst masturbating, and also how would I be able to sort of get rid of the 'full feeling' I mentioned earlier on? I would really appreciate any help anybody can give. Thank you for taking the time to read this. :) Jamie. more

Resolved Question: Bowel cancer, IBS? anyone thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.?

I have had a few problems with my bowels. For about a year now, i get nausea quite often, I have very strange skinny stools every time i have a bowel movement and about once a month or so i get a lot of pain when i have a bowel movement including burning. I often get a painful hard bloated stomach and need to take medication to relieve the pain. I have noticed that occasionally i have small red particles that look like undigested food plus sometimes tiny black particles that look like tiny pieces of coal and occasionally small specks of blood. I only went to the doctor about my nausea and she has referred me to a specialist. Will probably have an endoscopy. Any ones thoughts or experience on any of the above would be helpful. also is the endoscopy painful. I feel very nervous about the test. Could the symptoms be IBS? as I have had this for many years now, but these symptoms are new. Thanks more

Resolved Question: I have a pain in my left gut - any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I've had an acute pain in my left gut since Christmas day. I have no other specific symptoms like vomiting, sweats etc, just the pain. I've been passing regular stools, maybe slightly soft, but I still don't feel completely empty when I leave the toilet. The pain worsens and feels tender when I touch it, or knead it with my fist. I know it's from my gut and not from the stomach muscles. I saw my GP on Monday and he suggested it may be a bowel spasm, so he gave me pills to relax the bowel, which hasn't made any difference. I went back yesterday and he gave me some laxatives, because I suggested it may be partial fecal impaction. I've been taking the laxatives but had no effect as yet. I'm really just wondering what's going on, or if there are any informed suggestions? I recently had a gastric ulcer, as I have gastroesophegal reflux which caused a minor stomach erosion, leading to slight diaorrhea. As a diagnostic for this, I had a gastroscopy and sigmoidoscopy in August 08 and there were no signs of colon cancer and all the rest of it. This may be unrelated, but it may also be important information, I don't know. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom more

Resolved Question: Looking for advice on coping with a loved one who has terminal cancer?

My Grandad was diagnosed with progressed Cancer of the liver, lungs and bowels in April 2007. When he was diagnosed, he was given literally just months to live, however, he has been lucky enough to have beaten this ‘time limit’ and has lived a relatively pain free life for 1 ½ years. Recently in the last few weeks he has lost a lot of weight, and hasn’t been eating as the tumour in his Liver has become so large, that there is no room in his stomach. He has been admitted to hospital, where he has been given all the nutrients he needs and pain relief medication. Whenever I visit him, he tells me he’s feeling better and tells the family he’ll be out soon, in time for xmas, although I can see through every visit that he’s getting worse and worse. He’s stick thin, and suffering with jaundice, with a stomach the size of a pregnant woman where the tumour is swollen. He is dehydrated because he cannot retain any water or nutrients due to being ill all the time and cannot keep food down, despite everything the nurses are doing. We have known for a long time that he was going to deteriorate at some stage and have had time to somewhat come to terms with the future outcome, as he has too, but as he has deteriorated recently, it fills me with discomfort, not knowing how far this disease has progressed within him, as doctors are never accurate and he is so brave and hides his pain so well. No one knows how much more he will deteriorate in the future, whether he is feeling better or just putting on a brave face, or how much more suffering he has ahead of him. I’m wondering if anyone else out there has experienced a relative or friend with terminal cancer of a similar sort and the degenerative stages that the person went through. In a non morbid way, this will help me as it means I can be more aware of what stage he is at now and how much longer he may have to suffer so that I can face the future with an element of reality. I’m not necessarily looking for sugar coated answers. It would fill me with some comfort to know from a factual point of view so that I know what stage he is likely to be at now, and what he faces ahead of him, and prepare for the future deteriorations, and come to some sort of peace with the present and future situations I will be in. Mature responses only please, at this difficult time. Thanks x  more

Resolved Question: I still find it unbelievable people think a loving God created this hell hole?

I find it unbelievable people still think a loving God created this living hell. The pain, the disease, the mental illness, the molestation of children. Yeah God loves us alright, loves us enough to make a place where if we don't blindly follow him and believe in a dusty old book then we burn next to the murderers and rapists. If there is a God he needs sacking and I should be employed. I know the kind of replies I am going to get, "God does not want you to burn" and "its mans fault for all the suffering" Well thats wrong did God get bored on the 8th day and create stomach cancer?well firstly I would do away with hell, ans burning someone forever is very harsh and un compassionate. Secondly I would rid the world of disease, why create harmful viruses and diseases if he loves us. I would make it obvious I exist to clear the world of the doubt that destroys so many people. The list goes on...I would also slap God across the face for being such a slacker and doing such a bad job.what am I turning a blind eye too.no bible quotes please, they make no sense. more

Resolved Question: Do you, ladies have PCOS?

I do, and i believe that all women who has , should start writing long letters to docs, explain how messed up can be and find not a treatment but A REAL CURE, for this curse of nature. my personal experience. I got my period 14 years old, it was painful, like a stomach ache. After my first period the second one came 5-6 months after. PAIN PAIN PAIN, VOMITING , LOW PRESSURE, FAINTING,COLD SWEATS, all these for 12 years, ( iim 26 now) and i didn't knew , my family didn't get me to the doctor, (messed up family, another big story), and when I went to a doc, she told me that i have them and its ok. I was 22 when i went and until now i didn't knew how serious can be. Did you know that: More than 50 percent of women with PCOS will have diabetes or pre-diabetes (impaired glucose tolerance) before the age of 40. Women with PCOS have a four to seven times higher risk of heart attack than women of the same age without PCOS. Women with PCOS are at greater risk of having high blood pressure. Women with PCOS have high levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol and low levels of HDL (good) cholesterol Chance of getting endometrial cancer the symptoms are: infrequent menstrual periods, no menstrual periods, and/or irregular bleeding infertility (not able to get pregnant) because of not ovulating increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, back, thumbs, or toes—a condition called hirsutism (HER-suh-tiz-um) ovarian cysts acne, oily skin, or dandruff weight gain or obesity, usually carrying extra weight around the waist insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes high cholesterol high blood pressure male-pattern baldness or thinning hair patches of thickened and dark brown or black skin on the neck, arms, breasts, or thighs skin tags, or tiny excess flaps of skin in the armpits or neck area pelvic pain anxiety or depression due to appearance and/or infertility sleep apnea—excessive snoring and times when breathing stops while asleep (Not all women with PCOS share the same symptoms) Thats is so messed up. I got : Acne, depression, very irregular periods, increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, It ruined my life until now, because no doctor told me anything of those and i might have insulin resistance, because of my family background. now i went to a hospital and im waiting for my next period so i can do some tests. here in greece, docs saying " oh birth control pills are bad , don't take them, blah, blah blah, " fuck them , the minute i start birth control pills , is my happiest moments i.ve ever lived, no acne, no pains, everything is so perfect, now i stopped because i have to do the blood exams, and guess what..... Voting Question: Daily Stomach Aches - I Feel like im dying =S What is it?

ve been going to the doctors alot recently with agonising stomach pains but ive been diagnosed with so many different things - Stomach migraines, constipation, IBS, stress. None of the medicines ive been given work and ive tried changing my diet and taking no medicines but none of what i try works. Im getting really concerned as it gets so bad that i faint and throw up from the pain and i feel like i am about to die everyday. This is really putting me off my school studies and even being unhappy waking up everyday, and i just want to know what it is. Any ideas? theyve tested for wheat and have apparently checked all my main organs but not intestines or anything like that. Could it be bowel cancer or am i just being paranoid? They have also done blood tests, urine samples, ultra sounds and tests like that really. ive had this for 2 years and have tried taking all my tablets aswell. There is no course of tablets but just take them if i feel bad sorry for essay (:i dont think its crohns disease, they have ruled that out and i dont have the runs more

Resolved Question: could someone please give advice/info on pancreatic disorders..?

I'm really worried about my step mum to be. My dad had to bring her to hospital in the middle of the night because she was vomiting and had bad stomach pain. She is a smoker and was going to be giving it up next week. She's still in hospital and they've given her morphine for the pain and have done an X-ray, blood test and urine test. The X-ray showed nothing and they're still waiting for the other results. My dad said the doctors say it might be something wrong in the stomach or pancreas. I looked up pancreatic disorders on the internet and came across pancreatic cancer. My step mum is only 38 but she fits the symptoms of weight loss, back pain, nausea and intermittent diarrhoea. It says that very few people diagnose with this cancer live for more than 6 months, and I'm very worried. If anyone has any information about this or experience I'd be very grateful more

Resolved Question: Should I be worried ... Cancer?

Could I have stomach/Cervial cancer? I have back pain , Slightly high WBC and slight anaemia The doctor said the slightly high WBC is nothing to worry about and take iron supplements for the anaemia. I went to ER with my back pain .. they said they could find nothing only that i was constipated. My bloods are fine other than that. Im so scared I could be dying from something ... Im getting a scan soon BUT the doctors say they can't find anything to be worried about. I got an XRAY and that was clear about from the constipation. Should I be worried? more

Resolved Question: can calcification of the testicle lead to cancer?

hi about 3 weeks ago i found a lump on my right testicle. i went to my doctor and he said it was an infection. i then had the worst infection that i have ever had in my life. i am 34. i spent a lot of the time in bed with a fever. i had back pain and stomach pain. now i still have a cough and i keep having dizzy spells i also still get lower back pain. i went for an ultrasound and i was told that i have calcification's on my testicle. since that scan i have found about three more lumps and they are attached to my testicle. when i touch the largest one it hurts and i feel like some one has kicked me there all the time. i am due to get the proper results from my doctor on wednesday but i am worried about these other lumps that have appeared. there is a history of cancer in the family so this doesn't help my nerves. what i want to know is: could it be cancer? if not what do they do about the calcification's? will i have these lumps for the rest of my life? any help would be great as i am worried about this. thanks kind regards Chris more

Resolved Question: What can I do to improve my speech? ?

What is vegetarianism? Vegetarianism is a diet excluding all meats and fish. Many of us wonder what drives vegetarians to give up meat and adopt an entirely different lifestyle. There is no single reason why vegetarians make this choice. Becoming a vegetarian is an environmentally friendly thing to do, as modern farming is one of the main causes for pollution in our rivers. There haven’t been many places in which no meat or fish are eaten, and although there are many parts of the world in which the normal diet includes staple foods like rice with the rare addition of meat, this is often because of poverty, not by choice. Because of our desire to eat fish, many species have gone extinct as our rivers are being emptied. By becoming a vegetarian you’ll be eating fewer chemicals lower on the food chain. The more chemicals an animal eats, the more you will eat. In every beef hot dog, every bite you take there are 7 cancer-causing pesticides. Eating fatty meats increases your chances of having a heart attack or developing heart cancer, and avoiding meat is one of the easiest ways to eat less fat because farm animals are intentionally fattened to in crease profits. One of the main reasons to be a vegetarian is to reduce animal suffering. Pigs, cows, chickens, all living beings, are just like us, they can feel pain and pleasure. It is cruel to kill these animals for food when we do not need to do so. Those animals that die for your dinner table die alone, in terror, in sadness and in pain. Do you know the barbaric process a chicken has to go through before ending up in your stomach? It is hung upside down and placed on a conveyor belt. Next it passes through an electrical field where its brain is fried. On the conveyer belt, it passes through an automatic throat cutter and where it is bled out, opened and rinsed in scalding water. What remains of that innocent chicken? I’m not telling you to to completely change your lifestyles. I want you all to consider what I said today so that next time you eat another living being you appreciate it more more

Resolved Question: Should i worry?

So i went to the dr's about having constipation and abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing and heartburn. i was worried it was stomach cancer at first (IM 15 AND TAKE REGLUAR EXERCISE, AND EAT A LOW FAT DIET) He said DONT worry i think you just have excess acid production come back in a week (he gave me gaviscon) and had a feel of my stomach. i went back as i was worried still cause i had found dark blood in my stool and black bits he said the chance of having stomach cancer at my age is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. so he gave me some lanzaprazole and the heart burn went away and i have had no stomach pains since. But i have found black bits in stool and ALOT of mucus. and when i wipe. just mucus. is it cancer? or something less serious? more

Mine went back to normal,so is it still a sign of bowel cancer? Any mature answers welcome.oh,im 20years old, my diet is fairly healty,,Although i DO take alot eat alot of salt, for medical reasons.im aware that is fairly unlikey at my age, but it can still happen. im sure quite a few people have bowel cancer in there twentys more

Resolved Question: Blood in feces???

After using the toilet earlier today, i found a moderate amount of blood in the toilet, and also on the toilet paper after wiping. That was almost two hours ago, and now i my stomach feels upset, almost as if i could be sick or have diarrhoea. The blood seemed to have come from inside, rather than from the outside of my anus. About two weeks ago i had a small stomach upset, i wasn't actually sick, but i kept getting pains in my stomach that felt like it was tensing every now and again. I didn notice any blood in my stools at this time, today was the first time i have noticed this. I have read that this could be cause by many things (piles, cuts, or even bowel cancer!!!), but should i go to the doctor right away, or should i wait to see if it happens again? I am male, and 21 years old. I am not overweight at all, although i suppose i do have quite a poor diet if that could be a factor. Thanks in advance for any replies, i really am quite worried about this. Jimmy****EDIT**** Additional info **** Hi again, thanks for all the replies. I have spoken to NHS direct, who also said to make a docs appointment. she also told me to exam myself in the mirror to look for any cuts etc. Now i was quite worried, so i rushed and got a doctors appointment, and they can get me in later today. I then examined myself in the mirror like she said, and i can see a small cut on my anus, which is bleeding, so this is obviously where the blood came from. Is it worth keeping the doctors appointment, or will it simply heal itself. It is not a deep cut at all, but it was bleeding a bit. Thanks, Jimmy more
