Resolved Question: 14 and pregnant....don't know what to do?!?
Since no one wants to answer a important question, but would love to answer one with a pregnant fourteen year old, I used that as my title to get your attention. Ok. I really need help. Please read thoroughly. Approximately four days ago, I was in L&D for a UTI (I didn't know it was a UTI) as well as dehydration. My doctor came in and gave me a prescription for antibiotics. Now when I went to fill this prescription, CVS told me that they were incapable of getting this drug or any of it's generics from the company, and that no other pharmacy around would carry it. So I waited two days until my next appointment, and told my doctor... He got very upset that they didn't call him or anything... and he prescribed me with something else. This was yesterday. CVS told me they would have it for me by today. Now yesterday I was having sever nausea, stomach cramping, and diarrhea. Diarrhea like liquid. TMI, sorry. Today, I am having back pain, pelvic pain, nausea, stomach cramps, and diarhea still... And I have not had any heartburn, and usually I'm popping Tums like candy because of the heartburn. My question is, is the UTI causing all of this? Does anyone have any experience with a UTI untreated for four days during pregnancy and having all these symptoms? Please help guys. I am almost 39 weeks pregnant and I have been having menstrual like cramps and back aches, diarhea, and lots of pains and pressure down there... They said it could be the beginning of labor... what do you all think? Its been going on about 2 full days now. Also, the real question is that I woke up this morning and the baby seems to have changed positions all together.. she always used to be where her back was down the left side of my stomach and the limbs were to the right. So I would feel all the elbows and stuff on the right side... Everytime I sit down or lay down I get back up and I can barely move or breathe... It really hurts! its so hard right down the middle of my stomach now where I am assuming her back now is, and for the first time I felt elbows and movement on the right side. But she wont move for nothing and its really killing me! What is this? is it normal? what should I do? Is it part of labor or what is it? I think i may have mild IBS. I get horrible gas pains/cramps a few times a week. My bowel movements are mostly normal, aside from occasional diarhea. I also sometimes have this feeling as if i am about to poop, but i dont. Or like i havent emptied my bowels all the way. Does this sound like IBS? Both my parents have stomach issues as well, so i think i inherited it. Also, does IBS affect the way i digest and absorb the nutrients from my food? It feels so much better when i lay down, and i take rolaids and mylanta, and these sometimes help, but not much. My bowel movements are pretty normal for the most part, sometimes i will get a random bout of diarhea, but it's usually just a one-time thing. I also sometimes feel like i didnt empty my bowels all the way. I eat very healthy and avoid things that may upset my stomach (spicy foods, carbonation, etc). I cannot figure out what is wrong with me. My mom says it may be IBS or a food allergy of some sort, i havent been able to pinpoint what foods it may be though. What do you think is wrong with me? I was wondering if IBS affects the absorption of nutrients from food. I am 17 years old and i think i have IBS. I often get crampy/gassy pains in my stomach. My bowel movements are usually normal, i occasionally have a bout of diarhea but not too often. I am almost 18 years old and lately, i have been experiencing stomach problems almost everyday. I have always had a very sensitive stomach, but now it seems like i get these horrible gas pains/cramps that come and go all day and sometimes get in the way of my life. I have just started taking peppermint oil capsules bc i heard they were good for the stomach and i take rolaids and other anti-gas meds, but those dont always help. my bowel movements are pretty normal aside from the occasional diarhea i sometimes get for no apparent reason. So my first question is, does this sound like IBS? Also, does IBS interfere with the digestion and absorption of nutrients? I weight train and usually consume some type of protein afterwards, as long as i dont have diarhea (but still have the gas pains/cramps) am i digesting the nutrients? Ive been having some issues with my stomach lately. Almost every day, or at least a few times a week, i get these gas pains. Most times they are bearable, but just uncomfortable, but sometimes they actually get in the way of me doing things because i need to lay down. For the most part, my bowel movements are normal apart from the occasional random diarhea. I also get this feeling as if im about to have diarhea, but i dont actually go and sometimes i feel as if i havent emptied my bowels all the way. Does anyone else experience things like this? Both my parents have a history of IBS, could that be it? I will add that i eat a healthy diet and stay away from greasy, fatty foods and carbonated drinks. ive had trouble with my bowls for the past few months now, i think it will be easier if i set it out like this SEVERE CONSTIPATION!!! - i dont go regularly, maybe once a week if that - im bloated all the time, even the smallest of foods would make me bloated, and normal meals would make me balloon out! - my stomach feels acid and bubbley - i get sharp pains and cramps in my bowl every now and then - when i do go to the toilet and go to open my bowls i get shooting sharp crippling pains up though my anus that really really hurt! - i would be sat on the toilet for like what seems forever! - i find it actually impossible to pass stool so impossible i have had to have a rubber glove handy and got the stool out myself (gross ino but i couldnt stand the pain!) - when it does come out, its not easy!, its usually a big solid boulder and is as sharp as razor blades and really hot! - usually leaves my anus bleeding, i have seen blood in my stool but i thought that would just be coming from my anus? - and i always leave the toilet still feeling full, like there is more stool there - (used to get really bad piles where i couldnt sit down, but i dont get them as bad, hardly feel them) - i apseloutly DREAD going to the toilet, its become a fear. the pain is horrid and im only 17 - i have been getting sudden feelings of sickness and headaches, headaches that feel like throbing in my head and cloud my thoughts and make it hard for me to see because i have to squint my eyes to focus - and i have been feeling depressed lately i was going to go to the doctors about the depression but always put it off i had been to the doctors and she gave me some fibre drinks which yes, they made my stool abit more managable, made it slightly softer than usuall, but my stool was still as sharp as razor blades! and i still didnt go regulary so i then added museli and bran flakes into my diet (which is already FULL of fruit and water which is why my mum was surprised i always was constipated) my stool was still the same, i quit the energy drinks and carried on with the museli i thought this softish sharp stool is as good as it would get for me now. i would run out of meusli half way through the week but i had started having more softer stools and then i had no sharp pains and the stool was like rabbit droppings or a few hard rabbit droppings then like diarhea but not severe, i felt better though, i wasnt having the cramps as much and i thought finally! this went on for about a month, less than that but i dont get it, the past few days ive had big bowls of museli and i thought yeah i'll go any day now. and tonight i got the cramps ans acidy feeling, i went to the toilet, got a slight shooting pain and there i was back to square one! i had forgotton about how painfull it used it be. i was sat on the toilet for at least half an hour or more and i even try different possitions on the toilet to see if it will move the stool around abit. i had a few rabbit droppings then it was nothing, constipated again. i had to use the glove tonight because it was so bad, it felt like the stool was slimey too like a phlegme feeling. yes my anus bled again, and is burning too, i dont get it thought because i had a huge bowl meusli and fruit and nuts today i have looked at the symtoms of IBS and i havnt got all the symptoms these are just the ones that i have. is it worth going back to the doctors? but i am abit wary because i have been suffereing from depression and i have asked a few questions about it before on here but i dont want to go doctors about these 2 major things she might think im a hypocondriact but when im really just causious about my health, nothing this serious has ever happened to me what should i do? moreVoting Question: diarhea from lack of eating?
ive had diarhea for probably the last 3-5 days and im thinking that it has to be caused by food because i eat a few bowls of cereal in a day ussually but today i ate a whole bunch of granola bars(2 boxes) and 2 bowls of ice cream and some pops just cause i had the munchies and it was all i had, i dont know what ive eaten these past days but my stomach only really hurt when i was in the bathroom and before but now i feel better so i dont think it culd be a virus and alot of the time when i lay on my stomach it hurts so could that have anything to do with it. i dont know if this information is of any help but i smoke pot several times a day and thats how i eat when i do eat and i drink alot more water than i do eat food but i dont know if im even getting the water i should in a day(i drink from gallons and cant tell how many glasses im drinking). so my question is this, is it really lack of food making me this way and what can i do to make it go away as soon as possible. also i ont really excersise all that much but im gonna be riding my bike every day starting soon but i want to wait til i feel better i have no other pains such as head or something but i have had a cold for the past few weeks hope you can make some use of all this, thanks for your helpumm i dont think i said im trying to lose weight, im trying to get over feeling like shitI AM NOT TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT, I AM TRYING TO GET RID OF THE DIARHEA AND FEELING LIKE SHIT moreResolved Question: Is something wrong with me? It's a weird situation. It seems to happen only when I wake up really early in the morning, and usually only if I eat a bagel or an egg sandwich for breakfast. I'll eat before I leave for school, and then when I get ther half an hour later, I'll have the worst stomach pains, and will barely be able to walk until I get to the bathroom and unleash my poop. It usually only happens when I wake up at 7 or earlier, and only when I eat breakfast that morning, but sometimes it does happen if I eat late the night before. I'm 17 years old, and to get to school I make a 10 minute walk to the subway, then a 15 minute subway ride and another 10 min walk, I don't know if that helps. And also this problem isn't new. It's been happening since my sophomore year. But it's starting to get worse so I decided to finally ask about it. So I've had intestinal problems since I was 9, and I have bloating, gas, diarhea from almost every meal when I have really bad cycles where I just can't eat anything without pain. On good days, I only get gas from every meal. Mom won't take me to the doctor, and I'm not lactose intolerant or have a food allergy. I've tried probiotics and Imodium. Nothing. Im on BCP. I got my period april 17th and it lasted about 4 days i usualy get it for 5-6 days. i missed 2 pills after i got my period and i retoke them bothe on a teusday with all three(i know bad idea) i started to bleed or smeer of a brown overlayer. then 2days later i started to spot but i was light red. i toke my pill after the whole time til sat. i then missed a whole week after,didnt retake none then friday i started bleeding and relize it wasnt stoping. it would kinda be heavy then light. today(monday) its mostly gone but still there. Last night i got rele sick i got Diarhea and i threw up what i ate a few hours earlier. and i got and had severe stomach pains. My Doctor says that I might Have irritable bowel syndrome. We're going to do some tests soon. But yesterday I ate pizza, smoothie, steak, corn and ice cream through out the entire day. And at the end of the day i had HORRIBLE stomach pain...i was going to go to the emergency room. (that's how much it hurt) and i was constipated for a little while... then I tried to use the restroom one more time and i had a LOAD of diarhea. The pain went away after that. Also my stomach was rumbling VERY LOUDLY. Is this a sign of something more serious? I am 13, and my cat had to be put down on January 24th 2009. :( You see: She was throwing up and getting diarhea on and off for a couple of weeks, and so me and my family took her to the vets. Because of the credit crunch, we were down on money, so my dad registerd my cat on his mothers name, in this veternary surgery, which is discounted for people on benefits (my grandma is). At the time, my cat was having diarhea, and no stools at all. The vet said i was lying! He said he could feel stools in her stomach. I told him that I am her care giver, I am the one who looks after, cleans up after her. I am the one who would know. He was being really rude too. The thing is, after a couple of months, on january 20th, when i came home from school, she was lethargic, stopped eating, had no energy. We took her back to that veternary surgery, a different vet did a check on her, found out she was extremely dehydrated, and completely blind. :( my poor girl :'( They admitter her straight away. We went home. We kept on phoning in to check on things. The 2nd morning she was there, my dad was talking to someone on the phone, and he was happy, saying fantastic. Then i saw his face drop. And i knew it, I knew it was bad. He was saying fantastic, because her kidneys had failed, and if they got better, they could perform an operation to save her kidneys. Her kidneys were getting better. Then, they said she has stomach cancer, and it had spread. There were lolads and loads of tumers covering the inside of her stomach. They said this is it. They cant do anything else. They said we could take her home for a few days, but I wouldnt do it. I couldnt bare to see her in pain again. It was my decision to get her put down the next morning. We went to see her, she was so small compared to the other cats there. She was 10 years old, she was my cat. I had her since i was 2 years old, she was my kitten, my best friend. She was always there for me. Shes been with me through so much in my life. And now shes gone. I miss her so much still. I have a feeling that if it wasnt for that first vet, she would be here with me now. He might have been feeling tumors in her stomach? Not stools?. I want to kill him. I hate him. On february 13th, my parents brought home a cat for me, to surprise me. He was 9 months old, now 10 months. He is nothing like my old gentle sweetheart. I love him, but not like I loved her. I miss her soooo much. I still cry myself to sleep every night. I wish she was still here with me. I dont think i was ready for another cat that soon. I dont want to give him up though. He's been through so much, he was abused, beaten, then abandoned. My parents adopted him from the shelter, arranged it to surprise me. Please help me. Whenever i see something that reminds me of her i start crying again. I got some sort of an infection(of the throat or lung area). Tuesday after missing monday and felt awful, I went to the walk in clinic, he gave me two puffers and antibiotics and wrote me a note for mon-wensday. My dads strict and hates me missing school. Ive been ttaking the medecin but my sleep has gone to hell and iv been experiencing "normal" side effects such as dizziness, diarhea, stomach pain ect. I am really suffering but my father doesnt care. I missed thursday of school and went to the hospital cause my dad didnt believe I was sick but the doctor there basially shooed me away and said stay on what I'm on. It's only really bad when I get up. When I walk around it feels like a painful heavy thing in that part of my abdomen, it feels like pain. It hurts when I laugh, cough, urinate, and sometimes even breathe... It is more mild when I'm lying down. I have no idea what it is, but I know it's not the stomach cramps. Ok, here goes, dumb or not can't find info, so wondering if anyone can help. My 2 year old has been having stomach pain sometimes doubling over. Went to the doctor who did an x-ray, and she came back and told me she shows massive amounts of poop, she's literally backed up with poop, she will be going on tuesday for an ultrasound, to see if anything is blocking but they don't think so, due to the fact she goes atleast once a day ,but not alot, and the past 2 days she had diarhea,but still she shows massive amounts. they said in the mean time do whatever i can think to make her poop, so i was trying to research it online to find out why this happens, and what is done if it don't come out completely, any info would be appreciated as well as ideas of getting her to poop hopefully.thanks in advance moreResolved Question: Diarhea / Vomiting ~ now BLACK stool?
2 Nights ago I began feeling stomach cramps, pains and discomfort then I went to sleep Yesterday I woke up and vomited food I had eaten 18 hours ago, for some reason It hadn't been completely digested, it was rice covered in brown slime it was horrific, then I had diarhea the rest of the day that was green/brown WATER and smelled lkike CAT/DOG Breath, until I took pepto bismol chewable tablets and my diarhea slowed down but it became Black, which is normal but today my stool is STILL black, and I haven't taken more pepto bismol tablets in 15+ hours. I'm not really sure wether or not that part is normal, how long should your stool be black after taking pepto bismol? I also vomited twice yesterday the second time was much more violent and included Bile and all the food I had eaten that day. Thursday night i pulled a temp of 102. I was weak, dizzy, chilly, nauseas, and for a little i had this weird stomach pain and diarhea.Yesterday I woke up still nauseas and dizzy, but everything else, as far as i know as the fever as well. Okay im 14 and ive persistantly had the symptoms of gas, backache, stomach pain, diarhea, change in bowel habits for more than 3 weeks. Ive looked it up and these are symptoms of ovarian cancer. I know that these symptons are more commonly recognized as irritable bowel syndrome and other diseases but it sounds silly but ive just got a really bad feeling about this and all the time, theres things about people not recognizing ovarian cancer early and things like that around. I am almost 3 years post op RNY weight loss surgery. That means I predisopsed to ulcers and have to watch what I eat. I also have fibromyalgia, and my doctors keep prescribing naproxin which does nothing- fibro is not an lnflammatory disease. Anyway, last thursday I was in tremendous fibro pain and took the max dosage of Naproxin. I had stomach pain and diarhea and almost passed out. Since then I have not had a bowel movement (7 days now!) I am now on vicoden/tyleonol w/codeine which I know bind you up. I have been having a lot of stomach pain in the upper left qudrant, complete lack of appetite and nausea. I saw my Primary care physician yesterday and she blew me off (we have issues). Yesterday at 3pm I took a over the counter rectal laxative, 15 minutes to an hour it said. Nada. Help?! I drink my fluids, get fiber, no caffine, etc. I took an overnight laxative this am (I am home all day today), was this the wrong thing to do? Have I broken my innards? I have a minor phobia concerning vomiting violently and retrieving this stomach bug. My roommate was up in his bathroom (we have different bathrooms, over 20 ft away) throwing up and diarhea at 4am Saturday morning. He's been fine since Saturday around 9am. I lysoled my room down just incase, and cleaned off and disinfected the surface of the kitchen, fridge, etc. I am afraid to contract this virus that even today I am still washing my hands after touching the surface/fridge/microwave. I lysol my room down twice a day. But I am still fine. No pain at all. I am gassy but that's because I had a steak sandwich earlier. I know no one here is a doctor or professional specialist but just wondering if anyone else suffers this? Ive been to my dr but he seems to treat different symptoms and not others so im trying to help myself by trying alternative stuff. Basically at 12 i had a bad virus, developed chronic fatigue and started getting headaches and allergies and some naturopath put me on a diet and i seemed to react to milk (from memory, i was so yoiung so cant be certain). since then i constantly suffer from the following: - fatigue - sinus problems - stomach pains and bloatiness and gas - diarhea, sometimes like water of an evening - eat lunch and suffer pains all afternoon - headaches as in full on migraines and regularly as in daily unless controlled with prevention meds - body aches and sometimes exercise intolerance even though im fairly active and like exercise. I had some kind of stomach virus last week. My sister was sick for a day with a stomach bug. Just a small case of throwing up and diarhea that lasted shorter than a day. I was stupid enough to drink after her (if that was the cause) and then I got the bug. It affected me the same way (without the puking) all day yesterday. Now, I once again proved my stupidity by mixing dehydration with diarhea. I went to sleep with barely 3 glasses of water in my system. At 4:00 in the morning I woke up with TERRIBLE kidney pain. The only thing I knew to do was to chug water, which I did. After that I went pee and the scond I was done, the pain was completely gone. Today, I woke up and the diarrhea subsided and me stomach felt better. I have been drinking plenty of water, but the kidney pain is back for some reason. I have been drinking a lot of water (I would drink cranberry juice, but we don't have any at the moment). I have not been drinking many sodas in the past few days except for a few 7-Up's yesterday to calm my stomach. My kidney hurts bad, and even worse, I can't urine much now. The pee I'm giving off is no where near the amount of water I am consuming (which is why I stopped). I know I don't have cancer or anything, I just want something that can ease the pain on my back. My son will be 5 months in a week. Today is Saturday the 27th. This all started last Sunday when he threw up twice (he's not a throw up baby, not even much spit-up). Right after the vomiting episode, he pooped the worse smelling poop ever. It was mucusy with chunks (doctor says today that it is diarhea). That weird texture and smell of the poop has been occuring all week. Many times he passes gas and poop comes out, I'll change his diaper and it is ALWAYS dirty, whether a little or a lot. Christmas night, he threw up again twice and had a fever. I went in to the doctor yesterday, and dr said jus let it pass. Had blood drawn from his arms and results: normal. Fever got worse last night to 102.3. Went to a diff MD today and he says that fevers are rare at the end of an illness, so baby got checked for UTI, initial results are negative but still waiting for the final results; doc says should not be a uti. I also went to the doctor last mon , day after it all started. He just said wait it out. PLEASE, I'm going crazy seeing my baby in so much pain (he's been overly fussy since yesterday. He screams evertime we touch him, hasn't smile for days) I miss my baby. Please someone, what is this!? What should I do? Let me start by asking anyone who cant help to refrain from insulting or stupid answers. I ask this online because i dont want to have to go to doctor for it unless i really need to. I also dont wanna go askin all of my friends lol. When using the bathroom (#2) ive had a couple issues. Sometimes i go 3 times a day other times i dont go. Is that normal? Also sometimes its too soft almost like diarhea? I have trouble cleaning myself when this happens. But other times its too hard, im contsipated and cant get it all out. How do i avoid that? Also sometimes my gas seems to force its way out of me and its hard to hold. My diet is a few servings of vegetables, (carrots, bananas), a serving of fruit, sandiwches (whole wheat bread), some meat, a lot of pasta, cinnamon toast crunch on occasion and sometimes Fiberone cereal. About 1 week ago I was having some bladder problems. It was hurting for me to pee and I had blood in my urine. The doctor treated me with an antibiotic that I have taken most of my life, so i am def not allergic. But recently I have been having pain in my back and stomahc problems at night. Well, I'm 26 years old, and before I gave birth to my daughter 6 months ago, I had an iron stomach. Could eat anything and in unlimited quantites. Well, since I had my baby, I have terrible diarhea atleast 2 weeks out of every month. But something has changed since about 4 days ago. Thursday evening, i had a low grade fever accompanied by loss of appetite. Since then, I've had bloating, gas and diarhea. In the past 3 days I have been to the bathroom atleast 20 times. The diarhea hasn't been accompanied by cramps at it has the previous times. Sometimes I don't know I'm gonna poop until its nearly too late. I even had an accident on myself a few days ago. I haven't really wanted to eat nor have I had hunger pains. Okay... so here are the stats first off... things i've been feeling. * about a week ago I had my first braxton hicks contractions 3 in a row and I've only had a couple since then though. * for the past two weeks I've had an increase in discharge.. it's still the normal milky color.. sometimes thinner than others. I notice it a lot more if I have to go to the bathroom or after I have went to the bathroom * For a while now it feels like my baby's low.. through out the day I will get sharp pains in my cervix area. (I don't know that my baby is in place though because sometimes I think I feel it's head poking out by my stomach area or belly button... unless it's its butt or something lol.. * and last night I felt like I was going to have diarhea.. but when I went to the bathroom it was just normal but my stomach was also making the types of noises if you're going ot have diarhea so i was confused. Saturday morning i got really sick, throwing up, diarhea all day, and this intense pain in my stomach with naseua all day. I couldn't even move i was in so much pain. OK so, on Thursday (it is now Saturday night) at around 4:00am I started feeling very nauseous. A few around 5:00 pm that night I was throwing up. I had started suffering from diarrhea around 3:00 pm. The diarrhea and vomiting subsided around midnight that same night. Problem is I still feel extremely nauseous. Not keeping much food down, constant nausea and headache for 2 days (not terrible or vision altering, just annoying), and a little fuzzy/cloudy feeling in my head?
